The reason for problems with video playback, is due to the kernel has no perflock as original HTC kernel has. With perflock the cpu is locked to minimum 480MHz when screen is on, but without it, it will go down to 352MHz, which is too slow to keep video/audio in sync. I could lock it to minimum 480MHz, but that would mean it would run at that speed also when sleeping, which is not good for battery life. The easiest way to fix this, is to install SetCPU and make a profile with minimum 480MHz when screen is on.
The kernel in Kalims rom is locked to 480MHz as minimum speed, so that's why videos play fine.
Froyo will be updated if there's something new to update. Nothing is happening on the Froyo front atm though.
Sorry, I don't want to be annoying, but the problem persists.
I installed setcpu and set it to min/max 614MHz/691MHz.
Still the same, after reboot starting video player, only sound, no picture.
The control panel (appearing when I short touch on screen) doesn't work.
If I try to stop the video over panel the following message appears:
"Sorry!
Activity Films (in application Camera) is not responding.
Force close / Wait."
If I press force close, the video app closes, but the sound plays on to the end.
Next time I open the same video it plays well.
Youtube online videos still won't play:
"There was a problem while playing
Touch to retry"
