1. Shutdown WP7
2. Start your mobilephone and after your press the power button. Hold the volume down button and the power off button.
Now you enter in the bootloader.
3. Select USB Flasher with the volume button and klick USB Flasher.
4. Begin flashing with the DFT Image. The process should not be unknown for you.
I've your are not sure, how to flash the mobil phone. Look at the HowTo.

I hope it's works.
Attention! I have not tried this one.

greetz

Of cause I set it back to default and flashed a complete new ROM. Doesn't work. The app changes something deeper in the hardware than the OS itself reaches.
So no luck with this one.

:(

another idea is. flash the mobil phone with wp7.
before you do this. take the sim card out of your phone.

after this you can reinstall dfrouter und reset to the zune modus.

I think this solution will be work.

This will not work, because to install dfrouter you need to connect to Zune and chevron unlock it.

Unhappy HTC Mozart, T-Mobile Germany
Hi,

i have a HTC Mozart and wanted to try tethering, but everytime I try to connect I get a 692 Error ("Hardware Failure in Modem"). I tried every Driver I found, but I still think i'm missing something important.

The Steps I'm taking (DFRouter installed)
  1. Click on Router-Mode
  2. Disable Data-Connection
  3. Click on HTC-Modem
  4. Connect PC to PC
  5. Find two new unknown devices
  6. MI_00 --> Update with HTCDiag-Driver
  7. MI_01 --> Update with HTCModem-Driver
  8. Add +cgdcont=1,”ip”,”internet.t-mobile” in advanced label at HTC-Modem
  9. Try to get a new internet connection with dial to *99# (with username tm and pw: tm .. or just blank)
  10. ---> Error 692

after playing around for about an hour ive managed to get it working. they key thing for me was uninstalling existing software/drivers.

so my quick rundown of what i did (Windows 7 SP1 x86/32bit):
1. deployed xap to phone
2. turn off mobile internet and wifi (leave 3g on)
3. open dfrouter and tap htc modem
4. uninstall htc modem that gets installed automatically, ticking the box to delete driver files.
5. scan for hardware changes in device manager
6. 2 unknown devices that need drivers:
M_00 needs htcVcomV32.inf
M_01 needs htcusbmdmv32.inf
both these files are in C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC BMP USB Driver then 1 folder for each inf file

now i have 2 devices:
HTC USB Modem under Modems
HTC Diagnostic Interface (COM4) under Ports (COm and LTP)

7. in advanced properties of htc modem, add +cgdcont=1,"IP" ,"general.t-mobile.uk" to extra settings (quotes needed)
8. in advanced port settings, change COM port number to 4
9. in network and sharing centre, click setup new connection
10. create dialup connection, dialing *99# (NO username, NO password)
11. wait for windows to create and connect to phone. get as far as authenticating computer on the network then appeared to hang but it did finish THIS TOOK 3 MINUTES!!
12. reset phone and pc
13. connect phone in usb modem mode using dfrouter
14 connect to dial up connection

to prove it is working, i am now connected only to the dial up connection (i called it t-mobile), wifi is off, hamachi vpn is off. it is pretty quick, certainly good enough for checking emails and facebook

my phone is a HTC HD2 running a WP7 7008 spoofed ROM

DISABLE VPN SOFTWARE!! this caused massive problems for me, i disabled it and all was well (disabled the virtual adapter in network and sharing centre, not just disable the software). i also found that skype and windows live messenger slowed the connection down a lot, so closed both of those.

so it does work, just requires a bit of know-how and common sense!!

to get back to zune mode, i just tap zune mode in dfrouter, the phone reeboots and it connects as normal (not sure if it matters, but i kept my usb cable connected)

look at the step where your adding your advanced settings. internet.t-mobile doesnt look right to me, it should have an ending (mine ends .uk, i guess as yours is german it would end .de), it should be the same as your APN settings. hardware failure is pretty much the only error you get, so it could be anything. have a look at my post on this a few replies up and see if that helps

also make sure you turn off internet connection on the phone before trying to connect on the pc (it has to start a new connection).

buy a pc :P or bootcamp? i thought all you apple fans used iphones anyway

i have never used a mac, so i have no idea what you would need to do for the details in the steps, but you need to start by finding the HTC android drivers for mac (i dont even know if they exist!) if u can find these then you would basically have to get to the stage where u connect the phone and then force mac to use the drivers as you would with windows. then it would be a case of creating a dialup connection on your mac and setting it to use the HTC modem. the only thing u might get stuck with is adding the advanced settings. to be honest, it would probably be quicker to use bootcamp and install windows 7 along with your mac OS and set it up through that. its not perfect but it will do the job!
