I tried to write an 1gb CWM image to my 1gb sd card and diskimager is giving me an error not enough memory. Can i read the 128mb CWM image instead onto my 1gb sd card?

I am having a problem creating a backup because ClockworkMod SD v 3.0.2.8 is mounting P1 instead of P4. I do not have any issues with 3.0.1.0. Is there an image with correct mounts for sd card?

These images are CWM BOOTABLE SD images.... they are completely indipendent of a ROM BOOTABLE SD.

These questions have NOTHING to do with intent or contents of this thread.

Than you should make clear that this CWM can be boot from SD but can not make a backup an SD!

I would THINK the name of the thread says it all....

Does that not say making an updated bootable CWM SD ????

I don't know what you mean by can not make a backup an SD... but I quite often make backups on my SD using my 16 GB image... as there are over 15 GB available for backups.

nuff said.

Guys, has anyone solved the image writing issue? I have tried three sd cards 126mb, 1gb and 8gb. They all failed.

Maybe you could provide some details about what prog you are trying to use and what operating system you are using it under?

I'm running Vista 64 bit. I have tried WinImage and Win32DisImager. I usually get an error saying Not Enough disk space. I have tried to write a 1gb image to 8gb card and 128mb image to 1gb card and other configurations but i had the same issue.

1) Are you running the imaging program with admin privileges?
2) Can you format the card in windows without getting an error?

You are reading it from local computer and not mapped network drive? That has become an issue for at least one other.

program and image must be stored on local computer hard drive.

Try a FAT32.

If you are able to format with no errors, you are running the prog as admin and you are reading the img file locally, and the MD5 matches the original, then I'm not sure what the problem might be.

My solution when all else fails is to write the img using dd in linux.

Thanks for your help guys but after 5 days of trying, the solution was very simple. I didn't believe it myself. I used 7-zip and extracted the zip to my sd card then plugged it into the nook. I would suggest putting this solution on the first page so everyone would know. I think there r a lot of ppl having my issue.

Clockworkmod 3.2.0.0 is now out which supports /data bigger than 1.9GB. I made a 1gb image for people who are following my guide to use so here it is. I don't plan on adding others but I'm sure one of you great folks will take it on :)

You know I will if someone don't get to it before me... I'm a little busy with my IMEI generator these days... but I think I am extremely close to having a stable build with all important features implimented.

    Edit edit edit: I still own a Nook Color but I will not be actively editing this thread anymore. Here is the gist of it: You take any bootable Clockwork SD card, paste over the uRecImg and uImage files as needed for newer versions of CWM, and now you have an updated card. I was advised to warn you guys that the 3.0.x.x versions of CWM are not compatible with newer NC devices that have different partition tables. I was also asked to post the following:

    But I do want to point I disagree with the statement that "you really only need the 1GB image"... I use my CWM SD to make nandroid backups before major changes, so it makes a difference to have the full size of your SD available.

    I just wanted to report that I was able to take files from two different threads and use them to create a bootable SD card with ClockworkMod 3.0.1.0 and now 3.0.2.8. The advantage of this version is that it works for both ext3 and ext4 ROMs. I successfully flashed an ext4 version of Honeycomb and then restored back to my nandroid backup of auto-nooted Eclair.

    NEW INSTRUCTIONS
    1) Obtain the image for your SD card size here, containing any version of CWM:

    2) Obtain the correct uImage and uRamdisk files for CWM 3.0.2.8. The way I did this was to flash CWM 3.0.2.8 from ROM Manager and then mount my /boot partition to copy out the files uRecImg and uRecRam. But for the benefit of those of you here who can't flash CWM successfully, I've attached the files here.

    3) Burn the SD card as instructed. Leave the SD mounted in your computer afterwards.

    4) Rename your copy of the new uRecImg to uImage and replace the uImage file on the SD.
    Rename your copy of the new uRecRam to uRamdisk and replace the uRamdisk file on SD.

    5) Eject the SD from your computer, pop it into your Nook Color, reboot and verify that you indeed manage to boot into the new desired version of ClockworkMod. Upon completion I had a bootable 3.0.2.8 SD card.

    OLD INSTRUCTIONS BELOW
    I haven't seen anyone here post an SD image for 3.0.1.0, so here is what I did instead:
    1) Obtain the image for your SD card size here, containing CWM 3.0.0.5 at time of writing:
