%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update
Assuming windows 7/Vista

Zune can be used to restore it.

No it works the storage location is a little different and as I havent tried it in XP I couldnt tell you for sure but it is some permutation of the above path.

Search for the folder "Windows Phone Update" in your profile %USERPROFILE%

You will have to have enabled visibility of all folder etc... including hidden and system.

This might work for XP as well as 7/vista: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update

It's not a bother. I am just trying to figure out the sudden renewed interest that also comes with more bug reports.

I did a google search and found my program on multiple foreign web sites in languages I can't read and I am wondering if folks are reposting with viruses or something in the code?

I JUST got the handshake error and all I did was reboot the phone and it worked when I unlocked the device BEFORE trying to backup.

Well as stated above, it didn't need to be unlocked the first time.
Just in case though, can you please specify the unlocking method you used please?

And if anyone else on this thread has been running this BackUp tool with their phone locked, please sing out so we can settle this question.

Thanks!

I know you might of beat on this somewhere but, will this backup at the file level or Rom level....?

What I mean is I want to attempt Mago beta (files posted around here) and if it hoses my phone for some reason, can I restore with this to get my phone back up and running again ?

Can I just assume as long as I can get the phone connected to Zune, I can restore it back to it's current (at backup time) state no matter what version of the build or software is/was ?

Any issues locked or unlocked ?

Question Unlocked device
Hi!

Does this work on an unlocked device?
In first post among requirements it is not mentioned to be so and I guess it is working with an unlocked WP7 phone too. I have no chance to test this.

Am I correct?

Regards,
Cina.

Dev unlocked or not it will work fine. I mentioned "Unlocked" earlier but I was referring to the screen not being locked.
