I updated to .81 and rooted it. Now my archos is in an eternal loop? Any idea ?

Shut it down and then turn it on again. That solved it for me.

Depending on the customizations in the unionfs it might not match with the new firmware anymore and you have to start from scratch (see red text in start post for resetting unionfs).

I was using UrukDroid but this required an external SD card for operation. This was a big problem since the SD card perform and therefore Android varied greatly between cards and/or devices.

QUESTION) As an alternative, has anyone been able to use rageagainsthecage to gain superuser access? This worked great on my cellphone but I have not been able to get it to work with the Archos.
