tried this today on vibrant running 2.2 stock reboot phone into recovery mode select reinstall packages and got no reslults except an error message?

downloaded today. when i boot into recovery, it fails at verifying the package contents.
cannot root with this app.

This works for 2.1 eclair. I havent tried it on froyo yet

I always root from 2.1 JFD. ODIN back to that then use this method or this one: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=739300
You probably should learn how to use ODIN anyhow if you want to dabble in custom ROMs, chances are you'll need it soon enough whether you're going back from MIUI/CM7, flashing bootloaders or just f'ed something up (I've done all three)

So wheres this "unroot" that the OP claims?Im confused bout it. The first link doesnt have an unroot. Im kinda confused.
Since all custom ROMs come pre-rooted, you don't need this. If you still do and have a custom Recovery such as ClockworkMod, download and flash SuperSU.

I just wrote this up.

This will root your phone with no button pressing. No need for a PC.

NOTE: The auto-reboot will not work. it seems only system apps can reboot the phone. So for now.

Code:Just power off... Reboot into recovery... Hold vol + and vol - Hold power Wait for vibrant Release power Reinstall packages
