Quick question. Currently running GBE 2.0

Running other roms I have always been able go flash nitros thinkfreeoffice zip. I can't flash it on this? How come?

Sent from my Gummy Charged GBE 2.0 using Tapatalk

On the GBE RC rom, I had to edit the build.prop file for Thinkfree to load.

Thank You

First off I just wanna thank all the developers for the work you do and making my android devices that much more enjoyable.

This is my first post but I have been following xda since my first android (dinc). I now have had the Droid Charge for about 2 months maybe, something like that.

On to my actual inquiries...I recently flashed the gummy 2.0 gbe rom onto my phone coming from gummy 2.0 fe...i did the 3 major wipes and thats it for prep work. I didnt recieve any issue in the flash. The only questions I have are regarding the more frequent force closes(toolbar, random applications) and an issue I noticed, more so using speaker phone...i will be using speaker phone and it wil just start this loud screeching "distortion" and then the voice will cut back in. It isn't lengthy but it is extremely annoying. Is there a better radio to be using...any more tweaks that I may have missed....also I would love to know if there is a tweak to add a physical button for my camera. I saw a couple posts on some other threads but the resoluions provided dont seem to work...I just imagine it's due to some kind of froyo/GB conflict...any info would be much appreciated....thanks again!!

1. status bar force closes are an issue with GBE that is being worked on, app force closes can be fixed by clearing app data or wiping cache/dalvik in CWM with worst case fix being complete wipe and reflash
2. speaker distortion/crackling/noise is also a known issue with the GB leaks that afaik hasn't been solved
3. you may need to upgrade radios to EP1Q/W or the new EP3H as flashing GBE doesn't install modems, they're not permanent and you can upgrade/downgrade them whenever
4. the camera button mapping has the same answer as #2 unfortunately

blazing through on my 4G Droid Charge

Thanks anoninja...I was kinda thinking those were gonna be my answers. I wasn't100% sure on the modems though so thanks. Think I'm gonna flash the EP3H soon cause thats really the only one thats kind of an annoyance, I can deal with the others and I'm sure the other issues will be resolved. I am pretty happy with the GBE opposed to the FE....it just seems so much more responsive.

Thanks again to everyone on here. Short of developing I have learned so much on how to tweak and personolize my devices for optimal performance...which basically is the whole idea behind owning an android in my oppinion

Thanks!

For those new to flashing radios...this link rocks:
http://www.toms-world.org/android/

I live in an "extended 4g" area (that's what VZW calls it) and I get 4g only if I'm near a few windows in the house...will be interesting to see if I can pull 4g in the rest of the house...if that happens I'd be extremely happy...

edit: walked in the kitchen and it flipped to 3g ugh

EP3H Modem

I cant speak with too much experience cause I just flashed it but the EP3H Modem seems much better than the EP1*.....my 4G is flying..maybe its isolated but the difference was noticable immediatly

When did the ep3h modems come out?

I'm using the epw1 modems with this rom right now... What advantage does the ep3h modems give?

Morning all! I flashed this last week through Clockwork and ran into issues mounting the sd in recovery. I got back up and running but I wanna give it another shot. Is it best through Odin?

Cwm bootloader

Hello,

I had a quick question for you Charge guru's, I am not new to the scene but I am new to the Charge scene, it seems like rom manager doesnt like my moms charge, it wont boot to the bootloader so I can play around in CWM, is there a consistant way to get into CWM or something Im missing? I also can not hold volume down and power on to get into CWM either like my HTC.

Hold the home button and volume up(with phone off), then hold the power button until the Samsung logo appears, at which time you let go of the power button but keep holding up and home until recovery appears.

    Gummy CHARGED GBE

Rev your Charge up and get ready cause this things fast!!!
    sc20110910172213.png

    Notes:

    * This is an RC release it is only the base of what will be the complete release of GBE... That means it does not include any tweaks or the toolbox or TSM.. All of which will come to this ROM

*While it is not needed, it is recommended that you install EP1W radios

    * Please Wipe Data regardless of what ROM you come from

Do not use themes from previous GBE releases you will get a bootloop

Select Settings-->Display settings-->Unlock screen-->Glass unlock to get incoming calls to show up with the AOSP lockscreen slider rather than the puzzle crap

AppWidgetPicker causes issues with The Power Control widget (not the one in the dropdown) if you use this widget put it in place and on next reboot and it will no longer be blank...

    Thanks:
FABOLOUS for allowing me to use his Server to host Gummy Charged and letting me use his toolbox script to make mine!!! :)
Thanks to B16 for letting me post on his servers
Thanks to Teamdouche for publicly posting the CM source, which I compiled some of my apps from
Thanks to Superteam and Dustin Jorge as Gummy-Laucher2 was forked from and based on their work

I also want to put out a special thanks to IMNUTS (which CWM we are using in this release) for all his help

    - The only apps left from TW are Dialer, Contacts and Camera
    - AppWidgetPicker - built byboombuler
    - Ads blocked via hosts file -thanks to delta_foxtrot2
    - 1% battery increments built in (Icons made by TeamGummy)
    - Themed Dialer, Contacts, Task Manager by me to integrate into the stock GB look and feel
    - AOSP lockscreen
    - Reboot options (recovery and Download)
    - Overscroll Glow
    - Screen off animation
    - DSPManager included!
    - Imoseyon Kernel with voodoo lagfix and init.d support
    - Custom Launcher2 with extra hotseats and speed tweaks (lightest fastest laucher you will ever use)

    ToolBox:Not Included in RC Buids
    -install removed TW apps:
    MediaHub
    TW Email
    Visual Voice Mail
    AllShare
    TW Calculator
    TW Video Player
    -Add and remove Ads
    -Install Themes:
    Gummy Pink
    GummyBlue

GummyComb - many images were used from HoneyBread so I want to make sure I give that author credit (haxzamatic - you da man!)
    Black Alian
    Pinkie

    More to come...

    Known Issues:

thanks for the warranty tip... I am paying the $8 per month on Verizon right now..

how does the SquareTrade warranty compare to the Verizon insurance?

It's $99 for 2 years, if you buy it within 14 days of buying the phone. If you buy it after that, it's $149 for 2 years. It included accidental damage protection, such as water or dropping it off of a cliff. They will fix any issue for free, as long as it's not water or abuse. If it's water/abuse, there is a $50 deductible. I have a friend who has washed his phone in the washer twice, so this would have saved him if he actually bought it! He didn't listen!

There is a 5-day guarantee. If they can't fix it within 5 days of the claim, they will mail you a check for the full value of the phone. So, if you get a Droid Charge and drop it in water...obviously they can't fix it. So, you give them $50, and they give you a check for retail value ($599), so you can go get a replacement... or a phone of your choice.

So to summarize, $99 works out to $4.15/month over 24 months. $149 works out to 6.20/month over 24 months. And it includes water damage.

Also, when thanking... try to click "Thanks" instead of just saying it. It feels nicer lol. :)

    I hope this helps!

I've been wary to make the jump to GB roms, but now I'm going to take the plunge. I'm fairly new to flashing custom roms and just had a few questions so I don't screw up my phone.

I'm running a ee4 Froyo custom rom. Do I have to do odin the EP1W modem through odin? Or can I just use CWM and install GummyCharged GBE 2.0RC1.5? Of course I would wipe all three things usually. I'd appreciate any help guys!

The ROM comes with the EP1W radio installed. Just follow the OP.
