ok maybe i know whats up, but then comes the second prob doesnt understand how i can get craniums rom on my phone?
Can somebody explain it step by step?

Pls not like this...

ok i have tried a little bit not deodexed why ever, but i know what to do with odin.

First i have copied craniums rom .zip to the internal sd ( not extracted, leave it compressd as a zip).

In Odin:
I have selected the AriesVE.ops than the Bootloader, both from the rooted 2.3.4
and netchips kernel @ PDA. (3 files)

Now flash... now u have got netchips kernel, then i have executed on my PC a file called rebootrecovery.bat to enter Clockwork Recovery or what it is called.

The Menu will be displayed in double vision and its small to read.
There u have the option to install .zip file from sd (Craniums rom).

I cant install anything because at this point I think deodexing is needed, because a partion is missing and i cant do nothing.

Someone pls try this!!!

Did you try it with them cranium version of this thread in the first post or did you use the version with the modified updater-script?

What error are you getting?

I have nothing done with the rom(only copied to sd), i only have flashed the kernel and than in the recovery mode something wrong with the E: partition (missing or something like that), thinking its cause of my non deodexed device.
Iam thinking that u have to install the zip file in recovery.
first i have to deodex than i can see if the recovery mode gives me any error than i can try to install the zip.
I dont know which upater script u mean make it available or give an url so i can try.

I have successfully Deodexed my phone(I think). Now I cant understand the next steps in the first page? will i use my phones recovey menu to apply update (signed_Cranium_i9001.zip) just like what i did when i root my phone? or will i use odin? i need some help i dont want to brick my phone and flash again.

I have tried this one
in Odin 4.43
OPS = AriesVE.ops
BOOT = Boot_loader.tar (from I9001XXKP4Rooted)
PDA = recovery-kernel.smd
I successfully loaded Netchips Kernel on my phone (I've checked in Phone Settings)

after that reboot on recovery mode (double vision as stated above). BUT when i try to choose INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD it says "E: Can't find misc" (I cant read it clearly because its too small)

and now im stuck in recovery mode. even if i choose other option same error occur "E: Can't find misc"

Any idea guys?

i cant download the zip file on the first post.. maybe the link is broken?


Edit: ok i have downloaded the file. I just need to install sdk first. Will update later or tomorrow.

Controls in recovery mode have change thats why i cant enter INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD

menu button = move down
home button = move up
power button = OK

error when INSTALLING ZIP FROM SDCARD

back from work...
let us make a quick summary...
I havent deodexed my phone, Bongerz_0522 has, we both get the same error with E:can't find misc!!!

@ Bongerz_0522 try Power Button instead of Home Button, it worked one time to reboot, then i have played there around once again and it does not reboot(have to take off akku)

Mabye its a little bit tricky to navigate there, but it is save to install the cranium rom when CWM-based Recovery Mode kicks out this error?

Here is a pic what it looks like.



When u navigate than there appears the menu once again in the upper Display and when u go up or down the selected bar goes first in the bottom menu up and by the second click up in the upper menu.

It makes me crazy 2 menus and different selected options what is now selected?!?!

Is this right, that netchips Kernel is responsable to get in and see the CWM-based Recovery Mode?
Maybe he could fix this!

Yes, that is my kernel.
Old one but yes, it is my kernel.
You want go back to stock?
Flash stock ROM via Odin.
Oh yeah, do first "cat /proc/cmdline" and post the output.
Of course in CWM.

hey dont want to go back stock, we want all to flash the cranium rom and therefore your kernel is need I think.
Have got an newer kernel for the I9001?

I installed the zip from the first post without replacing the META-INF folder. it star installing. it reaches about 30-40% then aborted. heres the log

Hmhm i used the stock recovery and the phone was not deodexed but i got the exact same error...

    Try to install with stock recovery


    How to install
    1. Use a phone with firmware I9001XXKP4 Rooted
    2. deodex the phone according to this:

    Instructions deodexing firmware I9001XXKP4 with ROOT access
    1. Unpack archive and run xUltimate v2.2 Main.exe
    2. If all goes well, xUltimate recognizes the phone and connect to it, then you will see a menu of options
    (Your phone must be in debug mode enabled usb and "Emulation location")
    3. Run "Option 1". After it's complete - launch "Option 2".
    4. Then, run "Option 3"
    5. Important! After starting "Option 3" =>
    6. Run "Option 4" and wait until it ends.
    7. Close xUltimate

    8. Copy the folder "done_frame" and "done_app" (from the place where we unpacked the archive xUltimate) in the ROOT, not on the external flash (... mnt / sdcard ...)
    9. We place the folder from the archive to the root of sdcard gscript
    10. Install? BusyBox_installer_3.6.3 (run and provide the superuser, wait to be installed !!!), then install nl.rogro.GScriptLite
    11. Restart the phone (peregruzka / fully charged?)
    12. Put the phone in "debug mode on USB" and enabled "Emulation location"
    13.Zahodim/Go? in GScript Lite -> Menu -> Add script -> Load file -> Save
    14.Dalee click on the script execution Deodex
    15.Dalee look like the phone is buggy and throwing out messages on closing different programs until you restart
    16.Zagruzilsya? We use the phone with the firmware deodex.
    If you're working on the program Main.exe paragraphs 4.3 pops up an error, you must update JAVA on your computer and it will work!

    3.ustanovit (appoint, designate, assign) with instructions on odin cwm 4pda
    Instructions:
    1. One put a 3-AND FILE - Aries + CWR (from the archives!) And BOOT (from the firmware!)
    2. stitches as usual ....
    3. Phone does not go away after rebooting once in CWR and just loaded ....
    4. After downloading, go out in rekaveri menu ... any way (I stopped using the Advanced menu from the header!)
    get into the CWR, yes there is double vision, but to understand you can create a full backup is possible! I've done and happy with ... SHOULD finished the script itself to remove the split!
    YES ---- control + and - keys, make the choice key.

    4.ustanovit (appoint, designate, assign) with Market rom manager, through it to enter into recovery mode
    select from the menu to update the cwm sd, select the zip with the firmware.

    5.rejoice new firmware and wait for new ones.




    if u screw up,just flash stock rom,and u r good to go!
    It will work on any i9001 rom,but first try with xxkp4

    Quick guide:

    1.flash netchips kernel ( i have it done)
    2.deodex or not, try it, dont know if it is necessary?! (i have it done)
    3.Get in CWM-based Recovery Mode like on my pics
    4.flash my Cranium Rom file.
