Seems as if this file was already modded in fugumod. Trying the source you pointed at now. At fugumod only 3 of 5 parts in the patch were applyed successfully ...

Edit: The other source also failed. I am getting down to sourcecodelevel now and try to apply the patch manually

Edit2: Stopping that for today. At least I think I was able to patch the file successful manually. Next step is to run the build. I am still not sure which .config I should use. The .config from galnet/ltldevl can't get extracted because the boot.img is encrypted and gzip doesn't want to read it. (I don't want to start messing with those scripts now) And my current cm7 on my phone has a 0byte /proc/config.gz Maybe someone can help me out with a working .config for this i9000 until tomorrow afternoon?

This WORKING port with functional touchscreen for SGS 9000 & SGS 9000B, not hoax, not crap.
Based on Galnet initial work and now adapted by Onecosmic.

Setup:
Same method from Galnet (CM7/Miui)

Download
i9000 international:
http://www.multiupload.com/KKY4MF3N7O
i9000B:
http://www.multiupload.com/E9OPEJB95R

No wifi/GSM/BT/HSPA yet, in the way.

Thank you Onecosmic

Note:
"Onecosmic is not yet able to post in development section (10 posts minimum) so if you want to ask him anything open a thread in Q&A section or any place that he can answer until he reach 10+ posts"

I haven't tried original Galnet version so I can't compare. Tried Onecosmic version, touching buttons and icons works but I can't slide the menus so unlocking is a bit difficult.

Afaik, wifi also is kernel related.
What was done for making it work at nexus s?

edit: in the build for facinate, wifi is working, so I suppose we also have to take his wifi implementation, and maybe radio, too

This is booting for me.. Touch is a little on the buggy side.. screen flickering when touch and very hard to unlock lockscreen / lots of haptic feedback.. but seems like progress to me..
