Why do you still propose to use such method when Mur4ik created bootloader builder which is much faster and you can make partition as big as "whatever you want"

just download http://kulkoff.com/swift/download.php?file=SwiftBootloaderBuilder.zip

and follow description:
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=19493613&postcount=10

I'm going to change from 160MB to 170 - little said that miroslav makes roms bigger and bigger... I just hope next versions will fit in 170MB...

Plz can u upload d file for 170 MB system partition?? Cuz I don't have Windows anymore

Impressed with the ROM, I have the issue with root too however, complains that the su library or something isn't present. Flashed ok via recovery, tried z4 and gingerbreak but they both hang... Is reflashing the rom and resizing the system partition the only way of getting root back?? I've installed via recovery, had no joy. Reflashed and even recovered the data I'd backed up via Murciks rom fine but still no root.

Cheers in advance for any help.

YOU MUST resize System partition because if you don't do it you wont can install a system fully... so no root and other things!!! Use 170mb system partition instead 150mb and all will work fine

Thing is when I've tried to install a rom thats been too big for 150mb it's hung on boot or just simply not worked as it's frozen and just been bad when it's loaded. I've no issues other than with root. I had loads of free space before I transferred my data, and everything else has worked fine. I'm reluctant to lose 20MB as then I'll not fit all my app's on. Hmm... Mildly annoying, can see me using another compatible rom before I change my system partition, really dont like using fastboot and nor does my new laptop!

I still don't understand, as a result, why I can't use gingerbreak or z4 etc to get it back. Both those app's haven't worked mind..

Cheers

Do what i said and your problems will be gone... If you wanna see what's happening in system partition install root explorer,go to system folder and see free space... i'm sure that partition is full... when you try to root YOU HAVE TO ADD FILES! so if partition is full -> you will can't root your phone!!! its pretty simple and logical...
And like i said... if your system partition size is 150mb and the rom needs 160mb probably you will lose some system apps and files -> example: superuser.apk -> NO ROOT!
Do what you want...if you don't want to resize this rom it's not for you... resize is very easy and quick... but its your phone not mine so i can't say anything else...

Thanks for your reply, makes sense now, am familiar with unix filesystems sizing etc, its the bane of my life at work lol however ive misunderstood the system partition thus checked via root explorer and voila... 0 free space. Guess i could do with a 'map' of the entire filesystem to take my android knowledge to the next stage haha
Thanks mate, may have a go at resizing, will have a look at some notes on murciks bootloader thing in the meantime, am jus lazy. Barring titanium backup and removing system apps am questioning what else i even use root for these days! Hehe

    Installation

For who do not want to do a full reset, try to wipe dalvik-cache (recovery>>advanced). If you still come out with any problems, then a make a full wipe or factory reset.

NOTE: Before you flash this you need to eather resize SYSTEM partition with a MBN file IF you have a 150MB partition, files are attached for 160 & 170 partition resize respectively, flash via fastboot: fastboot flash APPSBL mbn_file.mbn OR you can simply open the zip file with 7ZIP and remove ringtones, apps to make it fit in the 150 partition you have, do not remove .odex files

    FASTBOOT
    Code:
    cd C:\*SDK\tools
    fastboot -w
    fastboot erase boot
    fastboot erase system
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash system system.img
    fastboot -w
    fastboot reboot
    -----------------------------------------
To restore your apps then type:
    fastboot flash userdata data.img
    fastboot reboot
    RECOVERY | .ZIP FILE
    - Plug, mount your PHONE and put the zip file into the root of your SDCARD
    - Unmount, unplug your PHONE and reboot it into recovery (HOME+POWER BUTTON)
    - Go to “flash a zip file / choose zip file / select the .zip file”
    - Go back, select reboot system now.

    * Thanks to @GOOFY2 and @eoghan2t7 for the MBN files
