Yes, still have it.TB must fix this issue, not Samsung.
Sent from the best smartphone, Galaxy Note...

Somehow I have the feeling Samsung won't worry about this issue.

Also, this feature used to work well on ROMs before KL7 ... Titanium is the same, the ROM isn't ... so somehow it's got to be ROM related, I assume.

And I agree, either Titanium will fix it, or no one.

Sorry, I can't help you out there, I don't have a Note.

You can just remove the apks if you don't want them at all, that way you can copy them back if you change your mind in the future.

Or you can use Gemini App Manager (or similar) to prevent apps from autostarting instead. That way they will just sit there on your phone, but not run until you launch them. Therefore not causing partial wakelocks etc.

...unless someone can say that it is now working of course.

Well, I have about 70 apps frozen ... I'd rather not remove them until I am confident doing so will not break anything. Defrosting is supposed to be much easier than remving them and later trying to find the exact version of the apks and push them back via adb or root explorer.

I know. But if you have apps frozen that you aren't going to use... why keep them frozen? Just remove them.

Some sharing about Google Search bar. Here's what i did,

1.Delete the in build search bar either by TB or RU. REBOOT.
2.Download G search bar from market
3.Back up the downloaded G search bar as installable apk using apk back up then delete it
4.With RU Root Uninstaller & install the backed up apk as system app. DONE

*Alternatively u can use TB to convert it to system app after installation.

U will have the long hold menu working to bring up Google search bar.

Conclusion is u will have to install the apk as system file.

I wasn't planning on leaving checkROM b4, but I decided to give the v17 a try.

I can't report yet on stability and battery. I did find the wifi signal to be better in the v17. I can use internet on the bedroom floor, where all other ROMs failed. Seems the new modem is better..
That could be a reason to update, or wait for the next version of your favorite ROM.

Why are you on the bedroom floor lol

Sounds like the random bug probably in the radio chip device driver. I think I fixed that problem by flashing Cassie's Rom and then Rocket again over the top. Try that with factory wipe, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, flash and then repeat back to Rocket.

Sent from my Nexus One using xda premium

Thank you I'll try that tonight.

Also I have battery drain far in excess of stock ATM although this could be related to a few things - I'm trying to investigate this further as well.

Update:

  • Added Kalagas Mixed_Theme v1.0 for Rocket ROM v17 based on new LA1.

Changes:

  • Themed 21 apks for now + 3 framework .apks.
  • Added Themed Market v3.4.4 (You must apply the Market fix first, as eybee1970 says in his OP).
  • First Post of my Thread re-organized. Now you will see in the Download Section the Base Code (KL7, LA1, etc).
  • The Title of my Thread also re-organized. Now in title you will see also the base of the ROMs i support (KL7, LA1, etc) and you will understand if there is an update for Mixed Theme from the Up: Date.

You can download all these from OP of my Thread HERE

Enjoy.....

For those reporting battery drain, I strongly recommend you visit this thread.

In my experience, 99.9% of all reported drain problems exist in userland and are app related, or setup (sync) related.

Betterbatterystats will tell you just what is causing your partial wakelocks (responsible for nearly all drain problems).

It is impossible that the drain is ROM related if everyone does not suffer from it :)

@kalagas Did you spot the change in SystemUI.apk in RRv17? ;)

    :)Hi folks,

I decided to post my ROM here on xda. I started with it 1,5 weeks ago on my Home-forum www.android-hilfe.de

This ROM is designed for having great performance with outstanding battery life!
I added all Mods and tweaks I supposed to be useful for me personally - so don't complain if you do not like, cause it's mainly made for me :)

Tweaks and Mods I added are from users here on Note-Forum, others are from devs all across xda. So there are a few I want to give special credits to:

    • nobnut for all his support, his theme and for being a real friend here on xda!!!
    • faby71 for Data Toggle, parts of his beautufil theme and his brilliant Call Rec Mod
    • RiverSource aka frank_m, angelom and franciscofranco for their great kernels
    • pikachu01 for some of his THUNDERBOLT-tweaks
    • LockeOn for the original Auto Brightness Mod
    • Homam Ageel for Extended Power Menu + Call Log Mod
    • GadgetCheck for the original Sony Bravia Port
    • padlad for the SMS- and Camara-Mod
    • lidroid for his '14 Toggle Mod' and his HowTo and my dear friend sileshnair for helping me porting to our Note
    • AndroidON for Smoothness-Fix in framework.jar
    • _JKay_ for his Mod and criskelo for being first to port it to Note!
    • dtekkt for large parts of his MIUIbuntu Theme
    • Criketj for the inspiration for MIUI Style Theme and parts of his In Bloom_UI Theme :)
    • meier2009 for new bootanimation
    • Phoenyx for dedicated Rocket-server and setting this all up!!

    Installation Instructions:

This is a NO WIPE ROM. So just flash in Recovery wiping Caches before. If you experience any problems or FCs, do a Full Wipe!
Do a Nandroid backup before you flash my ROM!!!

    Do you have Battery Drain?

If you face any kind of battery drain, this is most probably NOT a ROM-issue!!!
--> here is what you can do:

    - REBOOT your device after EVERY FLASH you are doing - and you will NEVER face any unexpected Heat Up or battery drain!
    - dont judge the ROM before you did not fully charge your phone after each ROM-Flash for at least 4-6 hours...this is needed to calibrate your battery!!!
    - install CPU Spy from market and watch if your device is going in deep sleep mode
    - use the App BetterBatteryStats (you'll find here on xda for free!) to find wakelocks and powerdraining apps

    General 'Save energy tipps':

    - switch to GSM mode to save battery
    - deactivate wifi, gps, bluetooth when you not currently use it
    - don't use any taskkillers, they are completly useless and might have negative effects on battery
    - deactivate Latitude, Facebook, Twitter and any kind of 'auto-updating' widgets, if you do not really need or use them
    - deactivate automatic google-sync, if you do not really need it
    - dial *#9900# and deactivate 'Fast Dormancy'
    - deactivate Auto Login in Google Talk App
    - deactivate Update of Samsung Apps in Settings - Applications - Samsung Apps

    a) In Bloom_UI v5b for v22 only:

    ok, guys....

development on Rocket ROM is stopped for now - thread will be closed soon.

There are several reasons that lead me to that decision...one of them is lack of time, other is that I find nothing to improve on GB, and a third one...

I thank you all for your support and loyalty! Maybe Rocket comes back on ICS - who knows.

I congratulate you for actually reading the thread! You are a true hero!

I want to apologise to everyone for being a **** earlier. I was in a bad mood and I let it out in the wrong way. If I ever feel like that again, I will read these last few posts :)

You guys are great. How could I stop? I can't as I enjoy it. Thank you to everyone and especially eybee1970.

Theme tomorrow morning, nice and early!

Right. Now I have to study some statistics and accounting procedures... ouch.

It's good to see you all again (well, nearly all of you). Looking forward to next week when we can carry on making RocketRom bigger, better, faster, stronger than ever.

    Keep the faith.
