>Use titanium backup first wipe old maps & uninstall
>use android commander for install maps6.3.0
>install app as system application then u done.

Just uninstal the old map & install the new one...
But it's can't run...very lagging & force close...

Don't know why its write bug's free....

On Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 RC 5.5 Full, no have maps. When I try to install this map, it looks like it installs and then I get a message that map is not installed.

this way worked for me[only for rooted users]:
1- go in manage applications..stop gmaps and clear data
2- rename the downloaded map to maps.apk
3- using root explorer move maps.apk to system/app ,if ask replace/overwrite,click yes
4- give permissions

[After doing all this,u may not find gmaps in app drawer]
5- then REBOOT the device
Now Check..it should work and then install street view.. This worked for me :D :)

i cant make it work, i am on cm 7.2 rc5.5
flashed gapps , and cant find to download regular maps, tried to install this, instalation didnt suceed, tried to copy paste your gmaps to system/app, setted premisions, i have now g maps in my phone, latitude etc, but maps just force close when i open it

i tried ur method ...after rebooting i get an icon of maps but everytime i click it..it shows loading and then it stops unexpectedly and says.pls try again...i already have street maps installed...and theres no icon of uninstalling it also..what can i do

for those who want to flash through CWM..Download the attached file.
Mount system and install the zip :)
i tried flashing via cwm also..it flashed but no changes..same problem...my wifi is also working properly...after the white screen it closes and says''the application maps(process com.google.android.apps.maps)has stopped unexpectedly.Please try again
