Ics discussion thread/Links for touchpro247 and Aeroevan Roms

i love the ICS releases, but the tearing on the camera forced me to go back to CM7.2. I've got two little kids, and I constantly found myself needing the camera. For whatever reason, the camera app that did work (i forget the name, it kind of sucked) didn't save in a format that would allow me to send the images as MMS. i have a feeling it won't take long before i'm back though. progress has been fantastic thanks to the work of a few individuals.
Oddly enough... I was using protekk's latest AOKP and noticed that the tearing was there like always.. however, on the top with the tear it was a piece of a picture that was on my SD card BEFORE I did a full data wipe and formatted the SD card.. Very weird!!! The photo was obliderated yet.. was able to be sewn into a photo I had just taken...
I've played around a little bit with TouchPros and found it to be pretty good. Looking forward to when we get a leak of the official ICS to further the development!!!
I couldn't run ICS because it didn't do 3G. When I went back to my nandroid of Andybonestock it took several battery pull>*228>reboots to get 3G back. There is some bit of memory that doesn't get erased by a factory reset> superwipe.

Has anybody else noticed that all Aeroevans CM9 stuff has dead links as of yesterday? It sucks cause he just added a new build and kernel

Voice search and some cm mods (the battery % is working and that's what I've been waiting for!) But I think YouTube is broken. Also, the front cam works but is pretty jankety
I tweeted ProTekk about adding voice search and front cam to AOKP, but he seems less than interested in responding to me.

Idk man I'm still on the fence I'm getting great battery life with aeros newest build and newest kernel. I think it'd be silly to flash tiamat with Evans from BC i mean... they should go well together right? I ran tiamat with aokp26 and received pretty bad battery stats personally
Also the market stopped working for me on aeros latest. I tried flashing tape_market fix, clearing app data, and killall drmserver in term emu and nothing is working

Stick with Evans. My setup didn't like tiamat. Was very slow and choppy running. Maybe its just me.
Tiamat seemed okay with with miuiv4 though in case anyone was wondering. Oh and market works now reflash gapps and market fix

If you have a problem please start labeling your problem to help us out some. There are alot of version of different roms people are running and flashing over. This way we know what answers to give you.

[Problem] - What the problem you are having
[Rom] - What rom and version your running
[Kernel] - If you installed a custom kernel or used the default one with the rom
[Install] - Wether you did a full wipe or install over etc.
[Replicated] - Did you reinstall from a full wipe with nothing installed or modded to the rom and slowly reinstall whatever u had. if it isnt chances are somethign your doing is causeing it. This is where most of you can easily find out what cause your malfunction.
EXAMPLE
[Problem] - Capacative button wont light up when phone is unlocked.
[Rom] - TP ICS Beta 3
[Kernel] - Default
[Install] - Full Wipe No Ti Backups Fresh Install
[Replicated] - Yes

I just thought we should post here for ice related problems since most people are on Aeros rom and still wanna share here as he checks xda. This way we haven't hijacked rms thread and when he adds more it will be seen

So Aeroevan and I have been talking, And we got him to compile a new build and upload it. This build is 4-16, and I have veen running it for the past.. 2 hours?

Changes:
This build should have compass arrow fixed in google maps.
Camorder working at 480p now. (Dropping FPS from 30 to 15 fix, And Yes no 720P Fix yet)
Small tweaks.
GSM permanent fix? Still a no go. I am personally looking into that one. Since we have a command fix but Aeroevan doesnt know where the ROM fix is.
Other then that, If you do want to permanently fix GSM on any GSM enabled ROM. Do the following.
Plug your phone into your computer. Enable USB Debugging. If you have the ADB Tool from the Android SDK run it there, If you dont. Download a Terminial app for your phone.
Then run this;
Step 1: Dial *#*#4636#*#* to get into test mode
Step 2: Phone Information > Set preferred network type: GSM only. Then your phone will start crashing, until you do the step 3 fix.
Step 3:
> adb shell
# su
# sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db 'update secure set value="1" where name="preferred_network_mode"'
# reboot
Now GSM is Fixed.
That manually sets the preferred_network_mode to 1 using the settings database directly.
Its getting better my friends.55
