I don't think it's worth even bothering to disassemble - just replace "/system" string with, say, "/****er", and it should allow to remount /system (but the other precious directory will become unmountable )

Thanks for the tip I'll try patching and uploading a new zimage

There is?
I looked but did not see it......

Anyone know how to recompress the decompressed kernel Image back into a zImage. Modifying the /system string and gzip'ing it and using dd as "dd if=piggy.gzip of=zImage bs=1 seek=15818" to reinsert it at the same spot doesn't boot. Seems like it needs to be relinked as piggy.o etc as in the build process. Anyone know solution to make a uncompressed kernel Image into a working zImage?

In settings-applications-all select a "stock" apps, next to force close, you can disable it.

You could say the content of the flexrom is full of acer bloatware but still some usefull stuff in there.

Makes sense. Thanks, civato!

System write protect/remount blocker is disabled in this boot.img. Thanks sp3dev for the tip. It took me forever to figure out how to recompress a decompressed kernel image but finally got it.

ICS is coming along very nicely now

Very nice, thanks a lot.

Does this boot.img has to be flashed through a custom recovery or can it be flashed by another mean like nvflash ? If so how ?
I'm asking because I don't have a CWM or Amon RA recovert installed.

Thanks,
