Could You just use any USB drive for a test and make a text/video tutorial about how to do that?

Or, how do I save any modification regarding partition with WinHex?

I have 3 hours to go (I'm on my friends' house and it's not wise to lend his PC this long...)

FYI: hboot is on partition #11.

I don't know can this be done with winhex. I have never used it, but if there is option somewhere where you can upload file to the partition use it.

movzx, what kind of file was generated via winhex? is it an .img file? see if you can dig through it and find the necessary files, something like this:

thread here, if anyone can help translate: http://bbs.malshenzu.com/read.php?tid-50080.html

p.s. let us know how you got the emmc to be stable as well, please.

That's great. Yes this method can be used for every writesecureflag brick device. And there are lot of them around.......

we'll still need to figure out how to get a non-bricked device into this emmc mode.

do you guys remember reading about any other qhsusb_dload bricks that were not caused by secureflag commands? i know a lot of desire people had those as well. we need to spread the word, once the guide is out.

Yes, next job is to find way to get working phones to this emmc_mode. I mean those amaze4Gs, Vivids etc which are stuck in that crappy S-ON. When somebody finds the way to do that, it will be only matter of minutes to turn those to the S-OFF.....

is there a way to compare a bricked download mode and the wire-trick one on a good phone?

I don't know, have to think a little bit. JTag could be one, but thats real PITA. Ramdumps are another thing, but those are blocked or does not exists in 8xxx.

My guess is that emmc-mode could be accessible by executing some address from that PBL_DLOAD mode. Or some sdcard trick. Or some key-sequence+wiretrick or something else, or or or......
