So will there ever be FM for the R800x? I heard that FM was disabled at the hardware level. Does this mean that it's impossible, or improbable that we will get FM? I have no idea how things work, but it almost sounds to me like there's a "switch" of some sort that has turned off the FM... Like I said though, I'm not knowledgeable at all xD

FM uses bcm chip, which is also used by WiFi. It is possible to enable.

from my findings the fm chip is not conected to any antena
even if we enable fm on this device it cant get any station
so is useless

FM will be enabled on Xperia S

Not totally useless. You can use headphones as an antenna, possible or not?

Is there any chance that more research will be done on this? I'd love to have music without having to use data.

My wildfire which I use as an iPod touch alternative uses headphones to access the FM radio, I'm sure that uses the BCM something chipset but I cant remember what chipset exactly :(
