you can try to flash the Enhanced_Keymaps-Andromadus_Audacity_b1.zip file from this tread,
that solved the problem for me.

Just take the android.policy.jar from framework, and the usr folder, from my XL sense 3.6 port to fix rotation, keyboard and trackpad. Can credit in op if u want

Rotation is bugged. Messaging/Notes/Phone and many other apps are still opening in landscape mode, even when keyboard is opened or closed.
"@" key on hardware keyboard always opens Gmail app, so I simply can't type the "@" symbol.
"SYM" key isn't working also.
Wifi is working great, and the whole ROM seems to be veeery smooth.
These are my quick observations after a few minutes of testing.
But anyway, great job and keep fixing
same issues here... also cant get secured wifi to work as soft keyboard doesn't popup and slide keyboard has no backlights....

i checked the site and found that you have a sense v4a rom.SmartBeat Venomous 1.0. we love to see it in our desire z. sinse camera is not workin in ics i dont think a lot of users will choose sense 3.6 when sense 4 roms are online. thank you for your work. is just my opinion and maybe im wrong.

I think SmartBeat Venomous 1.0 does not include DZ support in this version, so it's too early to talk about Sense 4.

Its not early gonna release it for desire z this weekend.

the only place that i have see tp sleep is in virtuous rom. i dont think we will see this here. tp wake is enough.

The dev cant because ice cream sandwich roms currently dont have fully working cameras. And since this has sense, it is harder to get a camera. And this is based on runnymede, so there is no landcape rosie. And it takes time to develop a rom. So dont rush the dev.

No working cameras for a phone, so there's just no reason to use dis rom fi me. Perhaps fi a try only !
But I really appreciate the works from all the devs. Me don't rush dem. Ya can be sure 'bout dis.

SmartBeat is created by memnoc, biCh0n, XxXPachaXxX and me. The name is a combination of BeatMod and Smartdroid and should show the cooperation of both teams. This rom is ported from rcmix sensation leak with android 4.0.3 and sense 3.6. it is a work in progress with still some bugs but we do the best to get it done soon. Bichon and memnoc did mostly resizing, pacha provided us a nice kernel and i worked on bugfixing. It was a long and hard way to figure out how icssense act so it wouldnt hurt if the thread get some touches up here and there too. If you want to use this as base just pm me and i am sure you will get permission
