You can't get here from there...
Try to lock the launcher in memory.
That's a memory issue. Maybe you have many Widgets and live wallpaper (and maybe many apps open), which consumes a lot of ram.
Also if you have wake lock, uninstall it.

Next version will maybe have the theme system.:D
Actually it is easier than I thought.

How do you lock the launcher in memory. Is it the same as on my EVO, adding a setting to build.prop?

Themes?!?! Cool! :D

Thanks,
-Jerry

Idk. Try it. Supercharger script can lock it. Some launcher have that option.
But if you have wake lock, uninstall it and see if the issue is still there.

And the themes will only be able to change some icons and other things for now. It will be able to change much more as the versions go on.

Has anyone experienced the icons / widgets disappearing from the desktop? Has happened to me 3 times. Running this rom, guevver kernel test 15 and either stock or Apex launcher the icons vanish with only the live wallpaper showing. Had to reboot to clear the issue.

I have also experienced this problem, but with Nova Launcher. A reboot of the launcher (Nova has it in settings, not sure about Apex, but Trebuchet you have to FC the app in settings) works

Yeah, I think it is my live wallpaper that is sucking up all the ram, don't have wake lock no point as this great rom and the t15 kernel is not causing any SODs or RRs.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Good idea, Apex does indeed have the restart launcher feature, will try that than complete reboot, I wanna see how many days I can keep this thing going without reboot.

if only someone could get SWAP and ZRAM into a kernel...

My HD2 benefits greatly from these 2 additions... ZERO launcher issues compared to my TF101 and my HD2 only has 400MB~ usable RAM to start with compared to the TF101's 700MB~ (thats right, 256MB is dedicated to GPU and then some more to the kernel and stuff....)

:p

Wonder if its possible to use the Aroma Installer (CWM installer... its full of win) to package the ROM with options like ODEX and such...

In settings, under '{ } Developer options', check 'Kill app back button'. Anytime the launcher does it just long press the back button and it will kill it and the next available currently running program will be presented. You could press home and the launcher will reinitialize, or, as I like to do, kill everything via long press until the launcher is restarted.

Yup. The other things install like they should, but polaris says it was downloaded but it's a zip file that's supposed to be flashed in cwm, so I press reboot to recovery when prompted and can't find it. Then I reboot and look for it w/ a file manager and it's not where it says it's downloading to...

This is happening to me too: it says MD5 check is ok, and the zip is not there.

Anyone knows why?

Btw: this is the best ROM i've ever tried. Thanks Ricardo.

I have to second this, especially since the 'kill app back button' is useful in many more situations than this, if it were up to me, it'd be default. sure as heck beats going to settings>applications>all>(app)>force close

Your Rom works great, not a reboot in 2 days, and it is very fast to boot, I'm really happy !!

Only on problem so far with Chrome Beta (last version) : was working for a couple of hours, then freeze.
I killed Chrome, restart it, and "Chrome has stopped", so I have deleted data and cache, but same problem.

I have uninstalled Chrome, then reinstall from market, same problem, so Chrome doesn't want to work at all :'(

Rom 1.04 / Guevver kernel test 16 / last Gapps / Apex Launcher

You could also use v6 supercharger and the ICS setup to make acore bulletproof...it is working well for me.

I looked at the thread regarding this, but, quite frankly, it looked a bit complicated to do. I am not in anyway a linux guru, although I am comfortable with command line and run linux on my home machines... is it something that is very complicated to do (scale of one to ten, ten being the hardest, what would you rate it at for a normal user).?

About 3G drivers.

At Ricardopvz:
Did you do something special to make 3G working (before ASUS giving us a TF101G Rom)?
Because I've noticed that if 3G is enabled when I start the tablet, there is some ppp0 connections but if I start it with only Wifi ON, there is no ppp connection.

And if I do the same with my phone (3G enabled and no Wifi started), there is no ppp connections.
ppp connections start only when VPN is enabled.

Can you confirm this?

If I ask you this, that's because I need a VPN working so, because ICS is buggy about VPN, I used VPNRoot. And when 3G is enabled on my TF101G, VPNRoot doesn't work because there are already ppp connections.
And i don't think it's normal if I watch what my phone does.

I'm having the same problem when trying to download Polaris via Megaton. Other apps have downloaded and installed properly but not Polaris. It says it downloaded successfully and MD5 matches, but if you look in that folder with a File Explorer, the apk isn't there. If you reboot into recovery it says it can't find it.

I've even tried changing my default download path in Settings but still nothing. The download screen goes from 0% to 100% in half a second so it doesn't even seem like its being downloaded... but prompts that MD5 matches.

I really need Polaris since I use it for work. Not having it got me 3 times this morning already.

If you would've read some more after that post, you would have seen where I found the zip somewhere else and uploaded it to my box...

im having frequent reboots in megratron 1.0.4 (atleast 1 reboot everyday). it was considerably less when using 1.0.2 or 1.0.3 . i dont know if its the stock kernel or something else but it was very less in earlier version when using stock kernel (1 reboot in may be 4-5days). i havent tried custom kernels bcoz its still in beta stage.

ricardo really listens to the users, and he has some great ideas where he is workig on, its a top dev for sure !
I concur concerning the CM9 Megatron build. It is by far the best ROM running at this point. :)
This is by far the most stable and consistent ICS ROM released so far. Damn good work Ricardo! :)
Took this weekend to test other roms and no surprise, Megatron is the winner hands down!
I mean, second place is so far back that it is unexplainable!
    Great work!

The cornerstone build is still the old CM9 (4.0.3) because it is not compatible with 4.0.4, so it doesn't have the new features

This rom is using stock kernel.
Other kernels available in the link below

If you come from the previous CM9 rom with a custom kernel, you have to download it again through the new link because i've made some changes

Features: All these are optional and can be toggled by Megatron Parts made by acquariusoft

I'm really really sorry guys, but i've been really really busy.
I'm not dropping support on Megatron, i've just been really busy.

But now i'm going to start working on CM10 and see how it goes, so Megatron next update will be with CM10. And it's going to take a while because many things have changed since i left.
Also, now i'm not going to be so active on the forum as i was in the beginning.
    13
Ricardo, how is going on the development? I´m missing some Megatron´s update

I've been busy with other things, but i'm putting more features into the rom and i plan to have a new version this week.
    12
Also I see there is a few more nightly roms up for our cm9 im wondering if any of the changes will be integrated into megatron if any of the fixes or optimization's have not already been done in 1.0.4 before the cm9 team could start work

Either way looking forward to the next release :)

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app

Yes, next version will have updated cm9 code.

Hey Ricardo, everything alright ? long time no hear from you
If you are taking a break, you earned it man, enjoy it ! ;)

    Everything is fine.
I've been busy these days with school things, but I'm also slowing the development a bit(nothing to worry about). This rom is not the only thing in my life (but it is a big part of it).
And yesterday I upgraded my Ubuntu to 12.04, so I was out of the PC for some time.

I want to release the rom as soon as possible, but is must be stable.
I've been improving it (mainly the upcoming theme system).
Now I just need to finish it, update the cm9 code, implement the new feature in megatron parts, test them and release.

Edit: CM9 ported the T-Mobile theme engine to ics.
    So much work for nothing
