My problem is not the length of the update, my problem is that they are not , along with most other oems, keeping us up to date on the progress. All they say is "coming soon" or "later this year". If they would at least make a half assed effort to communicate then it'd put a lot of people a little more at ease

that there is a double edge sword...if they miss the dates they initially project and tell everyone, they will NEVER hear the end of it...So many things can happen that could cause an update to get delayed and missing a date is something companies in general do not like doing...

True, but they can always update on their progress without giving us a concrete ETA.

Like "Hey, the rom is in testing right now, we hit a snag so it's going to be a bit longer, but we're working on it!" instead of "Hey, it's coming out sometime in Spring and we are going to give you the bare minimum of information on the update."

It's one thing to keep the eta under wraps because idiots on the internet will ***** endlessly when it isn't hit, it's another thing to give us virtually no info aside from "it's coming out" and expect us not to wonder what's going on.

Exactly what Cityeyes meant. Sorry for being a bit vague. Anyhow yes I just wish they'd let us know what was up with their development to reassure the slightly paranoid users that they ARE working on it; no need for specific ETA's (developers and modders on XDA hate when people ask, why shouldn't they?). It just ruins a customer expierence when you have to send an email, or pester on Twitter to receive an answer like "Coming soon"

If T-Mobile is doing rollouts for the Sensation on June 16th (far past HTC's "March" release schedule) then I'd assume it would much later (isn't GSM always quicker to update? I could be wrong...).

Now with the nearly complete Sense 4 ROM and Unicorn M5 release, Sense 3.6 update doesn't seem like such a big deal now, save for some camera functionality.

I'm speaking for myself only, I know a lot of people still would like an official ICS update and I agree, but I guess it'll just happen when it does.

GSM typically is....BUT....the CDMA EVO3D was released before it so that might play a factor in the time table some...

Wasn't there a GSM or overseas version of the EVO4G? when did that get the GB update?...

When the Rom will be relased, how much time will need to transform sense 3.6 in 4.0, I hate no transition effect ... sorry for bad english :(

has NOTHING to do with that...people that bought the 3D can't buy the LTE device unless they pay full price or are using their last premier gold upgrade...the # included in that last group are likely slim too...With yearly upgrades to everyone I can see the logic in doing it that way. But with that gone it makes no sense...Esp since you can't go buy a 3D anymore at dirt cheap since its EOL so as a new customer its either buy the new LTE or get some totally different phone, which doesn't matter b/c your a new customer and it makes no difference what you purchase long as you sign the contract for 2yrs...thats all they care about.

So really 3D owners are meaningless to them now if they have ICS or not b/c them having ICS isn't going to stop them from upgrading and re-signing a new contract b/c for the most part they can't....less they are premier gold and using their last yearly upgrade...

I'm thinking of using my last premier update on the next pure Google device which maybe an LG device or the sg3. Think I have had enough HTC phone gonna try something else.

At least a leak or a "We are hoping to have it out by **/**/** but we're not sure.

I see that you've never held a job in a software company before. Doing this would be suicide unless they already have it finished.

Do you people really think there is some sort of conspiracy and they are just holding it back to piss us off? Are you that ignorant? They will release it when its done, and they want it to be finished just as much as we do.

Lol typical yanks think they are the only ones on the planet although we have been here 1000% times longer.. Who gives a **** about American networks....
News flash: there will be far more unbranded evo 3d's in the wild! Like mine......

We "yanks" give a **** about our networks and some of us do care about about those other than Americans....me included. Also, I'll bet if the numbers can be found, you would see there are twice as many CDMA 3ds than GSM......

And seriously? What purpose did this remark even serve! Just goes to show that Americans are not the only ones that can be asses.....

The one thing that is for certain is the same people that keep making these ridiculous threads are going to be the same people that make threads complaining about ICS when it comes out!

After this phone, i'll never buy an htc again. The stock rom is smooth like the one i had on my Legend (2 years ago).
Dual core processor lagging with two widget and a static background means that they didn't work on optimization at all.

I agree, i'm so let down by this phone. I'm really considering going to a nexus s to get me by until i have an upgrade again. Thats what i was gonna buy anyway but the sprint store guy talked me into my evo3d

Agreed. I might just go for SGSIII when its out since HTC made ICS take this long.

    These posts amuse me.

"Meh, I don't like HTC anymore because they don't give me an update! Meh!"

"Herp Derp, I'll never buy another HTC phone, because everyone else gets updates first!"

Do you take the time to understand that the EVO 3D isn't exactly like EVERY OTHER PHONE out there? First of all, it's on Sprint. Sprint will get the update months in advance, and will sit on it to add their stuff to it and/or release it when they feel it needs to be released. Second, it's a 3D phone. It requires just a little more work than your every day smartphone with only a single rear-facing camera. You don't see the LG Thrill (the other 3D smartphone competitor) with Ice Cream Sandwich, do ya?

I'm just as unhappy with the turn around of getting the update as the next person, but do you really think that buying another phone, or going with another brand all together, is really going to hurt HTC? There are people out there right now that bought the EVO 3D, and have absolutely no idea what ICS is, or could even care. Business still goes on as usual.
