Well my device gets a GPS fix in 2 minutes, is there a solution? It should get a GPS fix in 20secs

It depends on variety of factors. Cold start without internet connection lasts very long. Also if you don't have good clear sky view, it can also be very long. I have no problems with GPS - it works perfectly,

1. press menu-button @ homescreen
2. go to apps
3. stop and clear data of Gallery and Media.
4. shut down your device and put out the battery for a minutr
5. restart

now your phone shut go into deepsleep ;-)

Is there going to be an update for cm9 any soon..? The ICS one.. or everybody is just busy with porting JB, with "non working camera and bugs similar to cm9"..?

Sorry but reading even a few posts could've given you your answer. We aren't going to do the JB port till we fix the bugs in ICS.
Please do not ask about ETA. If you are getting something for free you do not have the right to complain from what I understand you are trying to do with your post. If you want an update so badly do it yourself.

No reason to be frustrated or in panic.
The "good-old i9001 guys" like arco, vitaly and oisis are still all active to improve the ICS on i9001.
So best hope to see further steps next time.
Be patient and happy. ;)
Good things need some time ...

I also had better battery life before. But that was because my previous rom was build for battery life. But a half day long battery life seems a little short to me.. if you text a lot or if you use 3g a lot, then half a day is actually normal. Especiale when you have brightness of the screen on its max

At least that is what i asume. Am i wright or is a half day battery life actually short?

Chill out, he was asking a legit question. Since arco was last seen about 1 month ago, I think we can pretty much ask if he is still with us, or he is not working at CM9 at the moment.

Oh, come on, everyone needs to take a break sometime. If you want to see what arco is doing at the moment, just look at his github page. When you take a look here https://github.com/arco/samsung-kernel-msm7x30 you'll see he's still working actively on this project!

i agree... everyone needs a break... and since the only major issue we have is the "camera," there is nothing more to do here... and for the most part the current development is focused around camera itself... once that is sorted out, i am sure arco will pop out the latest build...

and since CM9 itself is still undergoing development and is a bit far from final release... we can wait a bit longer till it gets a final release or a major update... since the CM9 code freeze most of the development emphasis by cyanogenmod team is focused on fixing bugs rather than new features... so let them sort out the bugs while the developers here can fix the camera... so when CM9 is almost/bug free then we can merge and have a much more stable build with all hardware working... thus giving a solid base to build jelly bean upon...

At the moment this build itself is very stable... using it from the day it has been released and had no issues...

Chill out, i was just asking for an update on the situation, or a status, because since today, the last update was a month ago. I was not asking for an update on CM9, just an update on the progress, call it a "confirmation" if he is still with us or not. But today i saw he updated his github, so, problem solved.

Don't be hatin' that much.

Please verify the md5sum to be sure you got the right one.
Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)

    1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
    2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
    3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
    4. Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.

    Install

    1. Use CWM5 or CWM6.
      For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
    2. Wipe data and cache.
    3. Flash update*.zip.
    4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
    5. Reboot phone.
    6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
    7. Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
      • If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
      • It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
    Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
