[APP][CM9/ICS][I9001/I9000] Google Now for ICS [UPDATE 19/8]

Description

Well for thous trying get Google Now on ICS, i found a post, and successively installed it, now I'm giving you instructions and i will update it every time an update comes.

I am not responsible if you brick you phone

Requirements:

You Device must be rooted!

You should be running a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) or Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). I use CWM 6.0.

You should run any ICS or CM9 Rom that doesn't have any changes in google apps, if you use this on Gingerbread you risk bricking your phone!

You should follow the instructions to the end.

Instructions:

Recovery [Flashable Zip]:

Download the Offline/Online package. [Link below]

Put it into your SD card.

Boot into recovery [Turn off your phone, hold Volume Up and Down+ Home Button + Power Button. [After the "Samsung" logo shows up count to 3-4 and let go]

In CWM, go to "Install zip from SD" and select that.

Next, highlight "Choose zip from SD card" and select it.

Scroll down to the Google Now zip you copied into your SD card and then select it.

Scroll down and select the option that says "Yes - Install Google Now....zip"

Once it's done select the "Reboot System Now"

Manual:

Download The Google Now Apk. [Link below]

Open up Root Explorer and go to your downloaded apk.

Rename the apk to "GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk"

Now go to [System - App] mount R/O and rename "GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk" to "GoogleBackUp.bak"

Now copy the downloaded apk [The one you renamed to "GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk"] to [System - App]

Reboot

This version has improved on the previous one by fixing the double take problem, typed searches are working, auto launch is fixed, as well as the following fixes from the previous version: Red mic with cards showing with no refresh needed, no FCs, offline dictation, and no stretched words.

Notes:

Note.1: I suggest downloading the Offline package, because it worked better then the Online package.

Working but the cards is working just in English. For exampe its not shown clock when i ask it or not set alarm when i told in my language.

Does this only work on CM9 or does it also work on other ICS roms like AOKP? Becouse the title says ICS

I think so, in the original thread gets only difference between ARMv6 and ARMv7 processors

I must say that it works well in English, unfortunately, in my language does not support the card and do only simple research

I'm sorry but i haven't tested does it works on other ICS roms, but i think that it does work

And if you don't see the app try rebooting, if it doesn't work il give you a pure apk with instructions how to install it.

mmm nothing

So i have installed it on new EHNDROIX 12.8.15 (based on CM9). I have included all components of Offline zip in the ROM zip and i've flashed...but I can't see nothing

Well, I have to say that Google Now Commands/Cards are limited to english only [maybe deutch]. Other Languages can ony do Voice Search, without the commands and cards

Can someone do a video test? Because I turned to gingerbread (because batery) and I want to know if it really works to put ics :ll

Try to install this, if it says "Application didn't install" then go to root explorer, rename the downloaded apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk and put it into [System - App] and don't forget to mount "R/O" Google Now Apk

I'l make a video for a few days

and belive me it is worth to switch to ICS, and if you are experiencing battery problems on ICS you should Calibrate Your Battery!

Don't forget to check the permissions as stated in the installation guide.
When you're done, just look in your widgets for "Google Search" bar, add it to one of your screens and that's it.

Click on it and it'll open Google Now, config everything you want in Settings and you're done.
