Dear mister DooMLoRD

Will it possible to do the same with Xperia Arc S 4.0.4 - 4.1.B.0.587 as your perfect guide in the first post in this thread?

I would like too re enable the ROOT I had before this last update, and I used your tutorial the last time. Your tutorial is perfect for those that isn't that familiar like me in flashing phones using diffident programs and several different files.

If it's not possible would I at least say thx for all the effort you already have given us........... :good:

it was slightly difficult to use for some users so i have modified it to make it fully automated with least user interaction ;) also as a bonus it will install busybox too...

for those who dont know this is the well known old "andorid emulator" hack/trick... its surprising that Sony left those permissions on /data partitions... Dan rosenberg has posted lots of research material regarding this kind of hack for other android devices...

Credits for this go to the person who found that this old trik/hack works on Sony's Xperia 2011 ICS firmware!

@pushpakjain: man, please don't quote entire large posts

@vetdrchandan:same goes for you!
and about your question, just flash .562 kernel, root it, then flash back .431 kernel. but I doubt you will manage it, since you fail to do it on 4.0.3 after >20posts in Neo section..

My friend has some problems with rooting. He has an ST17i (Active)bought from Sweden.
He has working ADB drivers (he can type adb devices and get some letters and numbers)
But the rooting process is filled with 'Permisson deny' , 'No such file or directory' and other failed messages. He has FW 4.1.B.0.431 (the latest here in Sweden) There is no operator lock or something. Log from the runme.bat:

Hey DooMLoRD, small question regarding your toolkit.

First of all, thanks for this amazing tool, and second:
Is it possible to simply replace Superuser.apk in /files folder with SuperSU.apk (and ofcourse renaming it into Superuser.apk), and also Superuser su binary with SuperSU su binary?
Will this toolkit work after that? Is it going to root my Arc S successfully, and place SuperSU instead of Superuser?

Thanks.

Its just a batch file. You can do it yourself after unzipping the content. (either rename supersu file or change name in batch file)

I know it's just a batch. I just wanted to know will it work properly if I put SuperSU (renamed to Superuser) instead of Superuser. I know the batch itself will do the job, but just wanted to know will my phone be rooted properly. So I'm glad the answer is yes.
Also, is there any difference in default location of Superuser su binary, and SuperSU su binary? It's /xbin for both of them ,right?

I have not used SuperSU. So do not know if it will work or not. But why dont u give it a try and may be let us know? If it fails, you can always root it with the working method.
