Hi Guys,
I have read these pages again and again and am really not getting an answer to my question.

I am running ICS, stock kernel etc, with root and a locked bootloader. What process should I follow to flash this, and in doing so will I loose my root access?

Thanks!!

I flashed it and I think it worked. If I plug my phone in PCC would say my phone is up to date. But if I go to the phone's settings in the About Phone section the Builder Number is still 6.1.A.0.452. Is that suppose be right? Is there anyway to have it display as the correct 6.1.A.2.45?

Please some help here

I'm just like DevilsArc and 3vilhomer, I've read this thread like four times already and still dont get it clear.

I want to follow this procedure to make my kick ass phone even better, but I'm a N00b.

I'm in ICS rooted with locked bootloader thanks to the guide by Sharaz22 here.

Using CWM I've already made a backup of my current system.

This is what somehow I understand so far.

1. Download, rename it to update.zip and place the ROM extracted by Sharaz22 in the root of the SD Card.
2. Reboot the phone.
3. When the phone turns on I shall tap the Sony logo a couple of times to run CMW.
4. Select "install zip from sd card".
5. Using the Volume keys select "aply /sdcard/update.zip"
6. After the update has been applied go back and select "advanced>Wipe Dalvik Cache" .
7. Reboot the phone. And the phone will be rooted already as stated in the first post.
8. I'm stuck I don't know what else should I do.

I have a LOCKED bootloader,

Do I have to flash the Kernel and Baseband?
Since is a .ftf my guess is I have to do it using FlashTool.

Since Sharaz22 is placing a link for CWM it means that this ROM does not have CWM?.

What's the meaning of "Flash recovery after flashing rom incase something goes wrong for locked bootloaders." in the first post of this thread?

And one last question. Although improbable if for some reason I want to get back to GB the only thing I will lose will be root right, I mean the phone will be operational. :)

Dudes, I have no experience at all with CWM and my first Android(Samnsung S5570i) became a brick after two weeks of use.
Could any one give us a hint please.

i have the same thing too!! anyone got suggestion??

Go to http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)/STOCK+ROMS/ICS
download LT26i_6.1.A.2.45_GENERIC_NL7z
And extract ftf file

Flash that ftf file through Flashtool

I did lose my root access, along with pretty much everything else. And I think it wiped everything. So I suggest you back up what you can. I had to re-unlock my bootloader. I tried installing Advanced Stock ICS Kernel build 14 http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1729280 which gave my root back along with photos and music. but i guess due to it being a modded kernel, my update center prompted me to update to 6.1.A.2.45 even though I was already ON 6.1.A.2.45. The notification was annoying so I flashed the Generic ftf again and once again lost my root. I decided to just wait for adv stock 15 like blackon says: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=30856673&postcount=16

Tx a lot!

Flashtool :
Download it.
Install the drivers from Flastool folder.
Download the required fw in ftf format.
Follow this http://androidlegend.com/update-sony-xperia-s-lt26i-with-ics-4-0-4-firmware it has pictorial presentation.

Cwm :
Root your phone.
Flash any pre rooted kernel with cwm built in.
Download the required fw in zip format.
Place in the sd card.
Now use volume up button to enter into cwm when the device boots.
Use volume buttons to navigate and camera/home button to select.
Select "install zip from sd card".
Navigate to the place where you placed the zip. And select it, then select yes.
It'll start flashing.
Don't forget to take a backup in case anything screws up.

In any of the two methods, 1st booting will take longer time than normal.
