Ok in the updater script you essentially have the following:
Code:
ui_print("Dumping boot image...");
run_program("/tmp/dump_image", "boot", "/tmp/boot.img");
ui_print("Updating kernel in boot image...");
run_program("/tmp/unpackbootimg", "/tmp/boot.img", "/tmp/");
run_program("/tmp/mkbootimg.sh");
ui_print("Flashing boot image...");
assert(write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot"));
what this does is pull the boot.img from the boot partition then unpacks it to kernel + ramdisk in /tmp/ and replaces the zimage (kernel) with the one in the zip. This is fine if the user doesnt full wipe but if he full wipes then a full wipe formats the boot partition so there will not be a boot.img to pull from the partition.
that means that
Code:
ui_print("Dumping boot image...");
run_program("/tmp/dump_image", "boot", "/tmp/boot.img");
ui_print("Updating kernel in boot image...");
run_program("/tmp/unpackbootimg", "/tmp/boot.img", "/tmp/");
this part fails and so the new zImage is put into /tmp/ and mkbootimg script attempts to build it into boot.img
however for it to be a valid boot.img it needs a ramdisk as well as a kernel, therefore mkbootimg also fails to create the newboot.img and so there is nothing to flash.
The way to solve this is to pack a boot.img into the zip file and change the updater-script kernel code to something liuke:
Code:
package_extract_dir("Extras/SebastianKernel/kernel", "/tmp");
	package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img");
	set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/dd");
	set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/mkbootimg.sh");
	set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/mkbootimg");
	set_perm(0, 0, 0777, "/tmp/unpackbootimg");
	run_program("/tmp/unpackbootimg", "/tmp/boot.img", "/tmp/");
	run_program("/tmp/mkbootimg.sh");
	assert(write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot"),
	delete("/tmp/boot.img"));
Then you shouldnt hav issues anymore
