Acquiring MSL Fix! (For ICS & JB)

Here is the fix for acquiring MSL on the FI25, FI27 ICS, FK23, FL04 & FL16/GBxx/GCxx JB builds.
Please flash the FI03 bin toolbox prior to attempting to get your MSL.
Flash the STOCK bin toolbox file provided below for your rom build to return the bin file back to stock (maybe not necessary but I like to leave things the way they were ;)).

How to get your MSL.
1. Flash the FI03 bin toolbox.
2. Download terminal emulator from the market.
3. Enter at terminal emulator command prompt: getprop ril.MSL
--This will generate a 6 digit code. Write it down and save it!
--(Please note, the command is case sensitive)
4. Flash the Stock bin toolbox file provided below for your rom build to return the bin file back to stock.

Thanks for everyone catching this and for this being an easy fix. Didn't even think that this would happen and hopefully it's unintentional (meaning we'll see that fixed in a later version)

Well, I do but I cant remember the last time I needed to enter a dialer code....

in
com.android.sprintmenu
you can access all dialer menus shortcuts starting AFTER the lock...

in settings you can (..over 100 things) setup usb config... Apns...


In wimax hidden you can set your NAPID extensions...
Etc... Etc...
But be careful... The shortcuts for the wipes are in there as well... Ooooo


(even the "get msl" shortcut...)

Just tried it on _dan's FI27... It seems the FI03 toolbox broke a lot of things. Permission was denied on getprop, wifi wouldn't connect, couldn't view anything in root explorer...

Interesting. I have only tried this on stock fi25 bare. I'll see if I can try it on 100% stock fi27.

This fix works fine for FI27 stock deodexed. I'm going to d/l Dan's rom and try it there too. I'll upload the FI27 stock toolbox file for post 1 as well in case it is needed.

    WTG reviving an old thread - but actually want to give credit to OP for this as the method still works on FK23.
    Here's the FK23 toolbox .ZIP based on tdunham's work.
    Make sure you give him credit for this as I'm just updating his efforts!

    If you are on stock rooted, you will need to flash to a kernel with custom recovery first.
    You cannot flash anything unless the phone is already rooted.
    Install the Agat 1.3.0 one click kernel from here just like you did the one above:

    Install quickboot from the playstore, its a nice app that will boot you into the custom recovery easily.
    Then you can flash the zip in recovery.
    Then you can get your msl.
