I have the same firmaware....


I see the ( REGION: EUR | PDA: I9070XXLD3 | CSC: I9070XXLD4 ) has already been rooted, can I use this firmware (the PDA is the same) or i will increase the counter?

do not install another region rooted firmware, it might have incompatibility issues
I'm writing a list with all requests now so I can keep track of them

What issues?! o_O Region of fw, make difference only in update software, and pre instaled apps... I used for now fw DDLJ1 for India, and i'm from Poland in europe... It doesn't make sense what you say..

Each rom have different build date and "change lists"
this means they are different... even if the only things modified are those carrier apps.

I'm not saying that it definitely will have issues,
but doing this might cause issues ( boot loop, reboots, force close... these all happened when I was testing this root method using different roms )

1) I installed this from Samfirmware: Open Europe | Android 2.3.6 | I9070XXLD1 | I9070OXALD1

&

2) This from diego: REGION: OXA | PDA: I9070XXLD1 | CSC: I9070OXALD1




However i would like to share some little problems i had after the installation.

A) Superuser: I downloaded it from Google Play, but cannot update to latest version. I also install update fix error but the
problem remains (With BusyBox Pro.9.6.4 installed). I finally installed Super SU and everything works great.

B) Titanium Back Up: once i freeze an app, i cannot defreeze it. It's like making an uninstall. Also the backup does not work.
(Tested with 4.2.1 and 4.7.2 versions)


Can someone explain that? :confused:

I've rooted the Argentinian unbranded firmware following this tutorial http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1881964 , and in there the su binaries are copied into /mnt/system/bin , not xbin. Is that ok? from what i've tested the firmware is working ok, what would be the differences/problems on it being installed on bin instead of xbin?

    Be sure to follow the steps correctly.    ​



    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Windows

    • Samsung KIES and all drivers installed.

    • ODIN for flashing the firmware.



    HOW TO ROOT:
    1. Download the Pre-Rooted firmware that matches the firmware your using.


    2. Extract the RAR file, you will end up with a folder with two files in it.
      SYSTEM_YOURFIRMWARE.tar.md5 and CSC_YOURFIRMWARE.tar.md5


    3. Close any KIES application that might be open.


    4. Open ODIN.


    5. Select the file SYSTEM_YOURFIRMWARE.tar.md5 as PDA.


    6. Select the file CSC_YOURFIRMWARE.tar.md5 as CSC.


    7. Verify that ONLY "AUTO REBOOT" and "F. RESET TIME" are selected.
      Do NOT select "Repartition"


    8. Boot your phone in "DOWNLOAD MODE" by holding POWER + HOME + VOL. DOWN


    9. Plug your phone usb cable to your computer.
      If you've never connected your phone to your computer in download mode you'll have to wait for it to install the drivers


    10. Click the "START" button and wait for it to finish.
      Do NOT unplug the usb cable before ODIN finishes its job.


      If you did everything correctly, after a few minutes, ODIN will show the message "PASS"
      Then you can remove the usb cable.
      Your device will reboot in Recovery Mode and will finish the installation.
      When it finishes, it will reboot and start the Android System.



    11. Now, go to the "Google Play Store" and Install the app "Super SU" (or "Superuser").





    That's it! :good:
    Now, enjoy your rooted Galaxy S Advance! :cool:
    You can go back to Download Mode to check that your Binary Counter hasn't increased.
