Awesome! Will this work with Windows XP? How difficult/sketchy is the process?

Thanks!

not scetchy at all.. difficulty not really just time..

i just used google translate and followed the steps..

downloaded the tools needed for the restore/push.
copied my adb sdk platform tools files to the restore tool folder
copied qemu files to restore folder

ran restore, ran qemu, it will show an error at step 2 thats fine as the restore step pushes the su.

How much time do you think it took you? Couple of hours?

------------------------------------
If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.

Just download and unzip everything into a directory; then run RootQemu.bat from that directory (if you do not currently have the device drivers for your device, they are attached to this post, please install them, please use them to install your device before attempting the process).

A video with how to do this is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=31728742

Neither ADB nor the SDK need to be installed as all needed files are included in the attachments below (though it won't hurt anything if they are).

Helpful tip:
Make sure no other Android device is connected to your PC

the cmd window closes after step 2?

Driver would not complete (could not be added to store), this was being blocked by windows 8 x64 b/c it wasn't signed. Disabled the sig verification and got driver to install. But ADB would not see my device. After trying everything I found in the first dozen pages here I gave up on windows 8 and ran this on windows 7. I got the driver installed and the device seen on ADB and the root got to step 2 and then this:

/system/bin/sh: can not create /data/local.prop: permission denied

On system version 7.2.3

Thanks for the Auto root app.... BUT I cant seem to get it to work. I am running Windows 7 and my Kindle Fire HD version is 7.2.3. I installed the drivers for the Kindle Fire HD and even checked my Device manager when plugged into the Kindle and it says the drivers are installed and working. I had also set the Kindle settings ADB to (On) and the Device - allow installations of applications to (On). I then start the (RootQemu.bat) in administrative mode. And press 1 ext... Every screen shown in the attached word .doc.

The text that is displaying in the cmd window is:

Quote:

'adb ' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Thanks,
Chad

made it further than me. I got the drivers installed, but ADB doesn't seem to see it.

Windows doesn't seem to want to see it either.
