Re: HTCruu.com brought down.

RUU on request ..... PM me

And please add the CID & MAIN version number !

Fastboot oem readcid
Fastboot getvar version-main

READ THIS CAREFULLY !

First option is to check this thread

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 -------- Please thank Matt95 for an amazing thread --------

If your MAIN VERSION is there (CID does not have to match, only the exact main version) download it and place the nandroid backup in the right folder of the sdcard

Clockworkmod backup :

Clockworkmod\backup\*date and time folder*\*backup files from the nandroid*

Flash the boot.img from that nandroid (boot.img is located in the nandroid folder)

Enter recovery and do a FULL wipe and restore the nandroid backup.

Then flash back the STOCK recovery matching your MAIN VERSION.

You are ready to update official !

Stock recovery 1.29

https://www.dropbox.com/s/i98j4bhffkzwovp/Stock recovery 1.29.img

Stock recovery 2.17

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wbav46spkbznovp/stock recovery 2.17.img

Stock recovery 3.14

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ms7vd18vb9watr8/stock recovery 3.14.img

EXAMPLE :

You updated the hboot with a firmware flash to 1.39 but you have no nandroid, your main version is 3.14.206.** now you can download the 2.17.206.** nandroid backup and restore that the way i described.

you can update now to the official 3.14 JB software, but the hboot stays at 1.39. so the update only changes the software back to the highest available stock version !

And one more advantage is that the bootloader does NOT have to be LOCKED and UNLOCKED afterwards

Greetings Mr Hofs.

The end of HTC most likely the way they're carrying on.

I'll never buy another of their phones again, what with this secure boot nonsense and walled garden platform they're intent on.

This is simply a stupid strategy by htc.The site wasn't costing them any money. It was good for developers and people who wanted to go back to stock.Htc is turning into another apple.

This is a good example of why I have finally had right enough of HTC.

The tw@ts have evidently taken over there too.

The way they're trying to destroy their own customer base and self destruct you'd think they were a British company.

Re: HTCruu.com brought down.

In the few next days, I will contact James Taylor and ask if the RUU's for endeavoru are still available. I'd be interested in setting up some mirrors.

AW: HTCruu.com brought down.

I also stopped mirroring the HTC RUUs on my server. It's currently too risky...

HTC behavior these days are making them the bad apple of the android world. Real sad. I don't get it, this wasn't hurting them in anyway. I think I'll be looking elsewhere for my next phone:mad:

I wonder if this has something to do with the use of ‘HTC’ in the domain name, rather than the files being shared? That wouldn't explain the disappearance of Football's stuff - but If HTC really want to close down sites that share RUU’s, they might as well kiss goodbye to their community support.

I will try to contact HTC for clarification, but in the meantime - I’ve temporarily uploaded all 85 Endeavor RUU’s to my website, along with the 24 Evita RUU’s. You can download them from http://bugsylawson.com/index.php?/files/category/1-endeavor/ and http://bugsylawson.com/index.php?/files/category/10-evita/ respectively.

I'll let you know how I get on with HTC. We have to get to the bottom of this.

    Cheers,
    Bugsy.

    Bugsy.

The issue is that the persons used HTC (probably hacked/shared) accounts to download the files. With the latest RUU .31, HTC tracked down all the people who downloaded it from their server. And they seen different locations than their own developers or service center. This is how they tracked the people that shouldnt have access and thats why some devs (and websites hosted by the devs) suddenly stopped, before getting in any problems.

This is the story I've heard, and why one of my friends had to leave XDA recently and clear his history (won't say his username). Same thing happend with Conflipper and Sniper911, they also got tracked down and had to stop.

Good thing about HTC is, they are nice enough to first warn the developer. Not like Sony, taking direct legal action.

I do agree the way HTC thinks. Some files are just not ment to be shared with the public but then again some files are ment to be shared with the public.

Thank god I don't have direct access to their server. I personally would see that as stealing and thats why I dont want to have direct access. The stuff I share on XDA have already been leaked by other developers, I just know how to find them (mostly on these weird chineese websites) and share them on XDA.
