Re: Task650 AOKP Boot Animations [2013-02-17]

Looks great, do you think you can add some holo blue to some of the gears?
Hmm I could, but their isn't much detail in the gears to really play with, and I'd hate to make entire gear(s) holo as it's quite bright. Perhaps some kind of holo outlining on parts of the gears. I'll consider it and see what others say.

I am Z. Learn it, love it.
Re: Task650 AOKP Boot Animations [2013-02-17]

Love the inverted. Downloading now. Think I'll extract and use the built in boot changer rather than flash. I have some good uptime and don't want to mess with the stats.

Re: Task650 AOKP Boot Animations [2013-02-17]

Is it possible to get them in 720p? Thanks.
It's possible, but I'm not going to do it. Besides, bigger isn't always better. The file is already 8mb and has over 60 images inside it. Pushing them up to 720p would just make the archive bigger and *possibly* load slower. If you can find me a 720p version of the original unicorn/gears animation I will make one and we'll see how it works.

EDIT: I downloaded the most recent official AOKP build and they are still using 480p images on 720p devices. You'd probably have to go to the the original artist to see if he wants to create a 720p version for AOKP/us. Don't tell him I sent you though :D

Sounds good, you can always install it like that and copy the flashable zip to your OTA directory for future flashes.

That's exactly what I did. Unfortunately, I just rebooted to see the animation. Awesome dude. The inverted subtlety is fantastic.
Glad you like it. Do you, or anyone else think the inverted greys should be darker, even just the lighter greys?

Re: Task650 AOKP Boot Animations [2013-02-18]

Would love a black n blue look....but the dark blue is greaaat for now..thankz!
No problem, what specifically do you want? Like a darker version of the Inverted Holo one? Or a darker version of the regular dark blue one? I'm always game for making dark blue stuff.

Cool stuff, I'll add it to the post later today, I've got a lighter blue one in the works but I left the rainbow mane intact. The more choices the better though! Thanks

EDIT: Added to OP and changelog updated

Done! The one with "GearFX" is still a work in progress but you get the idea. Probably speed it up some.

Anyone else have any requests? Only a few more days off work ;)

I love the dark blue!

Any chance of doing versions optimized for Task's Nexus10 ROM?

Minor, but does anyone else think it's weird that goes from ”initiating swagger" to "swagger activated"? Shouldn't it say "swagger initiated"?

Choose from 18 Boot Animations based off the current animation used on Task650's AOKP build for the Samsung Galaxy SIII. The animations are in the original 800x480 resolution but upscaled to 1280x720 to fit SGSIII display. The goal of this thread is to provide a very decent selection of animations for what is arguably the best custom rom for the SGSIII. Some of these animations have been ported to the Skyrocket, see that thread HERE.

    DISCLAIMER:
I have tested the following boot animations on my Samsung Galaxy S3 using TWRP but make no guarentees that they will not cause your phone to brick or your girlfriend to dump you over your newfound boot animation flashing addiction. Please do not come crying to me if your phone fails after flashing these as this is your first and only warning.

    CREDITS:
I'm not affiliated with the AOKP team. Please thank the respective artists for the source images as I am only responsible for the transition effects and various other editing. If you require your name to be added here please PM me and I'll be sure credit is given where it's due.

Thaphlash - Original AOKP boot animation design
Jase33 - Several color variations of original animation
    Task650 - His own Task650 logo graphic

    SCREENSHOTS:
All animations fade in to a black and white unicorn with the TASK650 Branding (color suited in the inverted animations) ...

    0008.png

and then transition to the colored AOKP Unicorn animation...

    INSTRUCTIONS:
The following files are FLASHABLE zips. Download the file to your phone and use either CWM or TWRP to flash/install the file. If you do not want to flash the file, Open the zip and locate the bootanimation.zip file and apply it like any other boot animation. The reason I made them flashable is so that you can place the desired animation in your AOKP.OTA\AFTER-ROM folder so that after an OTA update it will automatically apply the boot animation, instead of the stock pink one.

    CHANGELOG:

2013-02-15 - "Original PINK" animation was adopted as TASK650's AOKP rom boot animation.

2013-02-16 - Adjusted size/sharpness of TASK650 Logo in first animation sequences.

2013-02-17 - Created "Dark Blue", "Royal Red", "Gritty Green" and "Inverted Holo" animations. Note that the unicorns rainbow colored mane was preserved.

2013-02-18 - Created "Inverted Red", "Inverted Yellow" and "Inverted Rainbow" animations. Note that the greys in these are darker than yesterdays Inverted Holo.

2013-02-19 - Added "All Blue" animation (provided by Wheemer). Created "Inverted Pink", "Inverted Midnight" and "Inverted Midnight w/GearFX". Note that the greys in these are darker than in all previous versions. The GearFX was a test run to see how it looks while spinning (further testing required).

2013-02-20 - Created "Inverted Grey" animation (all dark greys except the Task650 branding is stock cyan'ish).

2013-02-27 - Created "Inverted Purple" (trying to keep the AOKP flare alive) and an "Inverted Florida" animation (garnet with gold tips).

2013-02-28 - Created "Inverted Blu/White" animation (blue with white tips).

2013-03-05 - Opened thread for Skyrocket AOKP boot animations.

2013-03-06 - Created "Inverted Orange" animation.

2013-04-28 - Wheemer provided an updated version of his "All Blue" version. Link in OP updated!

2013-05-02 - Created "Inverted KiwiCobalt" and "Inverted KiwiKush" animations.

I love the inverted gray. Very simplistic, not eye catchy.

Do we want a 1600x2560 version of the inverted gray one then? I can only make it fit properly and even then it will probably look pixilated.

On a side note, I've been considering the idea of making a new animation, based on the original. I'd probably make it in some obscene high res and then scale it down for the nexus, SGSIII and now the skyrocket, then produce color themes for them. That way we have some up to date animations, designed for our devices.

Very nice. Maybe inverted black/blue please???
Yeah I was thinking a mostly black unicorn and gears with holo colored "swagger activated" text. Maybe a little holo unicorn mane too. We'll see.

Personally I'm using the Royal Kiwi Cobalt theme chooser by dustinb. He also has a Kiwi Kush theme that shows a great purple and green mix. Thanks for anything you can do. I'll bet I'm not the only one who would find the color schemes impressive.

PS. I tried to send a PM but it was my first try and doesn't look like it sent. I might be too junior I guess.
I've completed an inverted Kiwi Cobalt and Kiwi Kush animation. Both added to the OP. I went for a crisp but not overbearing look. Do we hate?
