Honestly, it really depends on what the Galaxy S4 has to offer. It won't be hard going back to HTC because all my prevuous phones were HTC phones. The HTC One has really caught my attention.

Latest talk is that it has taken a knockback with the Octa core whatever it is, and will now be coming with the S600 but clocked higher at 1.9Ghz.

Wow, seems like there are a lot people not liking this phone. I have an HTC EVO 4GLTE, not the greatest phone in the world but it has never given me a problem other than the crappy network its on (Sprint). I'm not disappointed with HTC jmore than I am with Sprint but that's another forum.

From what I see, I have to give it to HTC. They really do make beautiful phones. I'm really surprised, thought this forum would be raving about the phone instead all I'm reading about is that HTC doesn't give updates quick enough. Well who does other than google itself..?

I'm not an HTC fan boy and I'm actually considering waiting for the xphone but wow am I tempted get this phone. The Ultrapixel camera looks great, the processor is the top notch, it has super speakers that are done right (finally), iR blaster, and that design is beautiful. I'm rooted running CM10.1 and I would love to see how this bad boy performs rooted-s-off. Could we see 2.2 ghz stable, super smooth, no lag UI. What about mods that improve on the camera? Also, I wonder what kind of enhancements could be made to the speakers...wow! That screen is the best one out so far, can it really get that much better? and lastly it's such damn good looking phone! Dag, I think I just convinced myself to get one.

The GS4, I'm sure will be great but how much greater probably not much. Now, If they throw an octacore processor then its not a fair fight. You would have to compare these 2 separately.

So many possibilities.

Anyways, I really want HTC to do well because they really do make the best hardware in the market. HTC your innovation is great, but what good is it if you don't market this bad boy like Samy did the SG3. Do that and I think people will start to recognize and make it a household name, like Samsung and Apple.

Yes, I will be retiring my SGS3 and buying the HTC One. No more plastic toy phones for this guy :D
HTC One is a sick looking phone and the specs are VERY impressive to say the least.

Not sure yet, I want to, but I definitely want to see what the S4 looks like and does. It's a shame the One will only ship with 4.1.2. Lord knows when HTC will upgrade that to 4.2, or even Key Lime Pie. That Blinkfeed/Sense 5 skin is pretty special though.

Nope, never ever going to buy an HTC again. They make gorgeous phones, but the updates they deliver are so dissapointing. Not only do we have to wait month's for an update, but they also keep removing features that make sense attractive. Like the scrolling wallpaper background, it's not there anymore in the jb update(i know i know, download a homescreen app and problem will be fixed. But i like sense :D).

I think I will go and have a look at the Nokia and Sony phones.

That's a YES for me. Still using a Sensation, really wanted a One X/One S but wasted my money on a Galaxy Nexus instead.

I can't stand this all this plastic crap Samsung pushes out, and TouchWiz is UUGGGLY.
Sense is nice, but still wishing for another HTC Nexus device.

Those who are against HTC... Even though HTC sucks at sending updates... But there are innovative in the UI...
Tips to avoid issues in hardware
Wait for a month...so that we could know how the phone performs... Buy the phone after second batch of the phone

Keep calm and wait for snapdragon 800

I don't think you'll see Snapdragon 800 before Q3. :) If you're willing to wait that long, your wish, or maybe Moto X phone. But not in S4 for sure.

Two things stopped me getting a Nexus 4 lack of storage & the camera performance, which though no phone camera is that great does seem to underperform. But other than that it's hard to fault at the price.

I disagree side by side with an s3 pics look more life-like..

    i'll never buy another htc!!!!!!!
HTC was wrong too with the failure to update our sensation of jelly beans
    4
yeah i'm not buying it either. i don't trust hTC neither with software nor hardware anymore. for example, the sensation didn't get jellybean while it's definitely capable. Second, the speaker in it sucks (fact), battery calibration is always wrong, changing the digitizer 90% of the times gives you a faulty screen (even with an OEM part coz i got one and my screen acts CrAzY). Now, with the One X, the Tegra 3 sucked so bad that dropping the phone one time had the screen never to turn again unless you push the back casing exactly where the chip is. 20% of the first two shipments of One X's had that issue, not to forget the lousy cellular+WiFi reception. hTC never replied to the complains and assumed people's money as trash. then came the One X+ that made ALL One X holders so freaking mad...as hTC had officially whop it's 3-months-only so called flagship....

the sensation still is a good device, so i'm not changing it for the time being, but if i would, definitely no hTC for me, thank you. The HD2 ride was a one of a kind that will never repeat itself with hTC.

I have to agree with this. Before I bought this phone I had a Galaxy S2. The Galaxy S2 was amazing but unfortunately due to a hardware issue it got broken. Then I bought HTC because I wanted to try another brand. HTC's quality of the smartphone is great as well as their HTC Sense, but I feel more comfortable with the Galaxy S2.

I also hate the fact you have to S-OFF/Unlock bootloader, flash 4EXT recovery and then flash root. For example on the Galaxy S2 it was way easier. You just downloaded a custom kernel, flashed it and voila, you're rooted and got a custom recovery.

Earlier today I read an article about the HTC One aswell, but on a dutch website. It would cost 699 euros. Are you kidding me? 699 euros for a smartphone? You can buy lots of other great things with that and you can still have a great phone (For example Nexus 4 which is sold in Germany for 395 euros. 699-395 = 304 euros)

I'm saving my money right now for a Nexus 4 and get it. Like I already said HTC's build quality is great. It feels solid, but inside of the phone it could be better.

    HELL YES.

My HTC Sensation has performed flawlessly for the last 18 months, I love how many devs are cooking custom ROMs for it, I've never had a single issue that couldn't be resolved with a ROM reflash.

The HTC One looks amazing, outperforms anything currently available to date, and has a screen to die for.

The only thing that could potentially change my mind is the Samsung Galaxy S4, but unless it massively outperforms the One in every area or comes with an app that gives me oral sex on demand I'll definitely be signing up for a HTC One.

It is a powerful and beautiful phone but with HTC's behaviour over updates nowadays, it is a difficult choice. Also, this new camera that is 4mp, I wonder how the picture with be when zoomed. I zoom pictures a lot when I am editing which is why I like the 13mp cameras. It is not just about quality for me but also size after zooming.
