There was no S-Off method when I made that post.

Has anyone tried to root after the new update? Did the new update patch the exploits? I waited the whole time for the update and now that it's here, my battery life is predicted to be cut in half. That's not acceptable.

I'm running into an issue with running the exploit and not successfully setting my CID to 11111111. I'm pretty sure I've followed all the steps properly (not new to this flashing stuff, although this is the first time on this phone), but something is obviously not right. I've searched around but can't seem to pin down the issue. Any thoughts? Screen dump below...something failed before the reboot but I'm not sure based on the log what it was. Thanks!
Thanks for the reply. I'm on stock ics. Looks like I picked the wrong approach I guess...I've done some more hunting and found other approaches to try tomorrow. Are you on the latest jelly bean base? Consensus is this method doesn't work. I know of one guy who got it to work somehow, but everyone else has failed.
Can't get booster to unlock did is changed got the unlock code put it in data but fast boot can't find the path to unlock it what am I doing wrong everything worked perfect till the unlock part Help
I've never had such problems to unlock a bootloader of an Android phone...
Can you help me guys?
I have the AT&T ONE X version, Android 4.0.3, software 1.85.502.3 710RD, HBoot 1.09.0000.
When I try to paste the Token ID in htcdev it says ERROR 106- MID NOT ALLOWED.
Why is that?
What can I do?
Thanks!!
AT&T is blocked by htcdev. Or, you have supercid (11111111) which is now blocked by as well. You need to change your cid to 22222222 and it should work.
Got a question..
what android version will this root be?
and if lets say the version is 4.1.1, and there are updates to maybe 4.2 in future,
will my rooted phone update accordingly, or I have to do all this rooting to make it 4.2?
Thanks.
There is no "version" to this root. It roots Android 4.0.4 but you need to be on that version first. It won't root 4.1.1.
Updating your phone is a different process from rooting it. Rooting your phone will not upgrade anything.
Hello IElvis.. thanks for your reply.. I am new to this rooting business so I may ask a number of questions
to fully understand what I am attempting here..
for clarification, what you are saying here is the rooting program here
with twrp 2.3.3.0 for HTC one X will only root my HOX to android JB 4.0.4?
edit:- I just read through what you replied.. are you saying that I can only root my JOX with this rootkit if my android
is on 4.0.4, is that what you mean?
well i uploaded to official 3.18.502.6.710RD accidentally...nw my question is..hw to get root back ? PLz sm1 save me/...cant stay like dis unrooted for nymore nw ! : (
Will Work. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.
C:\Users\John\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4
C:\Users\John_Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4
Will NOT work. Your directory will look something like this and buttons won't work when you press it.
C:\Users\John Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4
If you have 2 words, put the folder in Drive C:
Ex. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.
C:\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4
Nicely done! Thanks for updating this for Evita.
