- Ability to reset frequency stats.
- Nicer widget layout, especially for low density devices.
- Updated current translations and added Arabic, partial Hindi and Sinhala translation. If you spot an error, you can fix it at http://getLocalization.com/noFrillsCPU

Well, the widget still sucks, but at least now it sucks less.

Hi, I've installed this app on my LG E720 on 3/4/13, and it worked quite well, but when I tried to turn on the phone today ( 4/4 ), it just stuck in the
"android icon screen " ( boot-looping? )
What's happening?
*I've moved the app to SD by using "Droidsail Super App2SD"
( sorry for my bad English )

I searched this entire thread for an answer to this question but to no avail, so i'll ask it :

When i use NoFrillsCPU, do i have to turn the "Power Saving" mode ON/OFF in the notification bar (ICS 4.0.4) ?

Will they compete against each other for setting frequency or does NoFrills need this "Power Saving" mode enabled to work ?

No!
Powersaving relates to lowering battery usage by reducing brightness, turning off battery drainers like hotspot, wifi bt etc etc..

They DONT change your governors and schedulers!
NO frills does that for you..

if your still doubt,,delete the powersave.apk from your system

Replied through PM, sorry for the delay. No chance it's No-frills's fault with all the extra security valves it has.

Thanks, I didn't even know such a "Power saving" mode existed. O_o... where is it? I have a couple 4.1 and 4.2 devices but I haven't seen it...

Just extracted it from my rom(din research about play store links)...dunno if it needs more files or the apk is enough
Pushing it to system or normal installation would help..

They are just like battery saving profiles

Are you sure ?
So what does the CPU Power Save does then ?
(refer to screenshot below)

EDIT: Ok so i downloaded "SystemPanel Lite" and i'm gonna remove NoFrills and check to see if the stock power saving changes the frequency

RE-EDIT : Uh, i'm not sure what is up with my phone but even after removing NoFrills completly and disabling "Power Saving" in ICS my CPU still goes from 245 to 1000mhz...

Is NoFrills modifying a system file that stays there when you uninstall it or is my phone already built with "noFrills" fonctions from the factory ??

(Galaxy Ace II X - GT-S7560M Rooted but stock firmware from samsung)

NoFrills definatly works though, because when i set the minimum freq to 320 it works and every options seems to have an effect but why oh why is my cpu freq still changing after removing NoFrills and disablinh power saving is beyond me..

Frequency scaling is a feature of the kernel you're running. Thanks Linus Torvalds and every kernel developer for that.

No frills gives you an easy to use interface to customise its behaviour, in regards to min, max, scheduler and governor.

Without No frills you still get the functionality, but you get the default behaviour or you'd need to use the terminal emulator app to configure it at every boot.

I'm giving a try on my SGP, I had trouble with CPU Master and CPU Tuner, too much battery drain.
