The brightness isn't really that bad or anything, but there have been a few situations where auto didn't kick it up and I wished I could have forced it myself.

You don't have the option to remove the auto-brightness??

One of the "features" of the S4, is that when brightness is on auto, and you are outside or somewhere else really bright, it will boost the screen brightness higher (30+% or so) than it will allow you to set manually. I would assume that it's to prevent burn-in, but I really don't like the idea of a brightness-nanny making that decision for me.

edit: I guess I actually figured out the answer to my original question as far as why we can't do it (burn in). I guess now I'm wondering if it's something that can be overridden.

I resolved this Talkback was always disabled but I had MissedIt "on" (I have this installed), but now I have disabled this also deleted my MissedIt app as I use UCCW now.

dunno if this has been mentioned, you can hover you hand over the sensor on top while your screen is off and can view the basic details such as time/missed call & sms counts

I've subscribed and I hope it'll be a sticky. Having come from apple products over the last 4 years (Not a fan boy and YES I crossed over to the dark side for a while), I find this post very useful and informative. The S4 is my first android device.

Thanks folks for your support, I've made a request for this guide to become a sticky but still no news. I don't know how long it normally takes. I sent a pm to one of the Mod., I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else.
