I updated. Re-rooted. Installed SuperSU and did my typical de-bloat. No custom logo all day and then on my last reboot the CUSTOM image came back. Oh well.

As long as I can keep flashing official firmware to get updates, I'll be fine.

With respect to djrbliss, I hereby present you a slightly modified version of the original exploit:
- It includes the 'su'-binary from supersu
- Superuser.apk removed:
- Instead of installing the 'SuperUser'-app directly using ADB, it shows a message when you have to manually install it from the market.

With this new ZIP, you will not see the 'custom'-icon at all as it is done 'the first time right', or in fact, directly with SuperSU instead of SuperUser which is noticed by the software.

Hopefully it is OK to djrbliss if I post this, if not, please let me know and I'll remove it.

Enjoy!

How would you install this zip for people that are already rooted?

Well, you do not have to install the ZIP, but instead, do the following:
- Install SuperSU from the market
- Grant SuperSU root access
- When asked to update su-binary, please do
- Remove SuperUser from your device
- Reboot (I read two reboots are needed to make the icon disappear again.)

This will give you the same effect as the modified zip I provided, except that it did not install SuperUser at first but directly installs SuperSU binary (with manual SuperSU installation).

But don't we want SuperUser instead of SuperSU because it's updated?

Please define 'updated'.

Looking at the Google Play pages:
SuperUser by ChainsDD - Updated 1 July 2012
SuperSU by - Updated 3 March 2013

So SuperSU is newer, I do know there is a different version of SuperUser from Koush (ClockWorkMod) but I haven't tested it. I will try this later and if people are interested I can create a similar ZIP with the su-binary from Koush/ClockWorkMod. At this moment I do not know if it will show the 'custom'-icon with this root application/binary.

[EDIT] rogersa2k below is right; the original package contains the SuperUser from Koush/ClockWorkMod already, so that's not going to be of any help...

Isn't it this SuperUser.apk, or am I confused?

The version of SuperUser included in Motochopper seems to be the updated one by ClockworkMod. That's what is currently installed on my phone. So does that mean we can't get rid of the "lock" icon on bootup without removing it in favor of SuperSU?

So, I am attempting to root, and it keeps saying:

device found
pushing exploit.

It does not do anything else, it will stay on that until I close out of the program, what am I doing wrong?
