[3.4.45 KERNELS][HALLON/HAIDA] 3.4-nAa-03 [18/5/2013] - Unified kernel + CWM Recovery

Search This thread
just installed this kernel, and what i noticed immediately that the display is much brighter than with FXP kernel. even the lowest brightness setting is too bright for me, and the brightest setting causes some color distortion (black turning into dark blue).

great effort btw, i never thought i'd see a 3.4 kernel on my old device. guess buying a new phone will be postponed by a few months

voice call volume is very low after flashing the latest release.

This is a known issue, read the FAQ from here.
Lowering it down and up is a workaround by the way.

Honesty, these kind of posts should stop. DO NOT POST PROBLEMS WITHOUT SOME LOGS. You are not helping otherwise, you are just spamming, please everyone understand this!

EDIT:
@nobodyAtall The kernel doesn't produce last_kmsg, have you disabled it? Some users, including me, have still some more but more rare random reboots, logs and dmsgs are not so helpful, please tell us a way to enable it. Should it create itself only from hard-reboot (meaning from kernel logo and on) or from soft-reboot(meaning from boot logo and on)? Cause I am having only soft-reboot, it occurs on after screen-locking and/or sending an sms and locking screen. I can't be more helpful, I have attached some logs, without last_kmsg (I told you why), hoping you can understand something from this, I can't. Maybe it's just that the device runs out of memory and panics. But random reboots are reduced significantly, now I can barely understand how to reproduce the reboot, previously I could. Also wifi works very well. Thanks to all contributors how participate this project, we owe you! :victory:

@Last_kmsg: the implementation has changed in 3.4. The fix is ready:

For me, that 3rd release a finaly daily usable kernel.
The only reboots I had is the known ones...

if ( $battery == 100 ) {
echo "Phone reboots.";
} else {
echo "Phone will reboot when unplugging.";
}

(When battery charges full if phone doesn't reboot when it hits 100 then, it'll reboot when unplugging.)

Reboots are indeed faster
Battery still drains but, waaaaaaaaay lesser than previous releases.
This time 20% = 12h when before it was like 60% = 12h

Battery still strange. Can jump at low values to 1% or even to 0%. Often jumps from 15% and less.

Hi,

I have been using build 3 on haida since it was released. I had some reboots (mostly due to charging known issue), but not many often till today. Today I have had 3 reboots in three hours and I was not using the phone :confused: :confused:

One after phone fully charged (known issue), another one when automatically updating opera (first time this happens to me) and the latest one with the phone blocked (not aware of it doing anything)

For the rest, I think this is quite a good release and I want to thank devs for their hard and good work

Regards

Kernel is perfect except one very big fault - so often reboots!!! During last 2 hours i expected about 7-9 reboots! It just boot into OS, i starting to do anything (going to the app launcher, adding widget, launch SMS app etc.) and it just reboots! :crying:

Those who keep pointing out bugs and complaining shouldn't forget the fact that getting a 3.4 in itself was a distant hope.We are getting it..thank the devs...who made it a reality by their hard work..praise them for what you are getting, it would become stable some day.

hi... i m using v3 (3.4.45)
today i notice a strange thing:
using pac rom 4.1.2 i allways set in rom control too keep 80mb of free ram and with all previous versions the system allways keep the amout of ram that i set,
but with this version the free ram is about 25/35 mb. sometimes it goes to 13mb and less...
anyone has facing this problema?? could this be the cause off the reboots of many people have report? (including me)

respect

edit... i m not complaining at all , just try to help in the way i can.

no one is complaining they are reporting the issues
as there are some changes in the new build so you won't be able to pull last_kmsg
so the only way left to report the problem is describing your problem
