As there is no CWM for our device that supports EFS backup I found this and I wanted to share it.
It is easy one click tool.

Here is the link or here to the tool but just to be sure if it is down I uploaded the tool and I post the explanation here also.
No credits to me but to the creators. I tested it on my tab and pc (windows7) and it works without any problem.
It finds the correct partition where the EFS is (dev/block/mmcblk0p3) on our device.

What is EFS:
EFS folder is the very sensitive system folder that contains Phone-specific information such as the IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. If this thing not handled properly, can turn your device completely useless as it will no longer be recognized by your carrier.
Problem is, flashing custom ROMs sometime can corrupt contains within EFS folder. That’s why backing up EFS folder is very important if you love to flash new ROM. Good thing is, Developer develop a tool that can backup and restore ‘EFS’ folder of your device easily called EFS Pro. No need to say, this tool require a rooted device.




Features of the tool

  • Supports Backup and Restore of Partition Image (*.img) and Compressed TAR Archive (*.tar) formats.

  • Automatically detects saved EFS Backups on Device and PC for hassle free restoring.

  • Re-Scan option to refresh Backup list for restoring Backups.

  • Automatically Re-Mounts ‘EFS’ folder with Read/Write permissions during restore for users ‘stuck’ with Read Only permissions.

  • Automatic detection and prompting of Mass Storage Mode.

  • Automatic detection and termination of SAMSUNG Kies application on startup.

  • Supports Multiple Backup handling.

  • Option to Format ‘EFS’ partition before restoring an EFS Backup.

  • Attempt NV Recovery – Restores NV Data from ‘*.bak’ files if they exist to fix corrupt or incorrect IMEI number.

  • Repair NV Data – Repairs NV Data file ownership to fix ‘Unknown Baseband’ and ‘No Network / Signal’.

  • AUTOMATIC ‘/efs’ partition location detection to add support for many more including future devices.

  • Hashing of Partition Image Backups to verify the data written.
To use this tool, just connect your Samsung devices with your Windows computer and make sure your device is NOT in Mass Storage Mode or Backup and Restore functions will fail.

Download EFS Pro v1.9.12
Now, run EFS Pro.exe file and follow the onscreen instruction to backup or restore your device’s ‘/efs’ folder.

this dont work on n5100 stock rom rooted by framaroot

bigfood - N5100, rooted by framaroot, efs backup suceed... According to first part of log is problem in application GUI, where one visual component is not initialized. This may be caused by visual or regional settings of Windows, or most likely due to wrong or corrupted installation of Windows or MS dotNET.

Does this app support all Samsung devices, like Note 10.1 and Galaxy S3 or S4???

For LTE device, backup the EFS folder won't be able to save the IMEI.
N5120 user should be aware.

Correct me if i m wrong.

If anyone is interested, the latest release (currently 2.0.70) starts correctly

I have found that Obackup https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pommedeterresautee.twoborange3, which is a great backup tool, supports also the efs directory (advanced backup configuration, select partition and select efs).
It's really the best solution in my opinion.

Hi guys, does this also support other devices?..not just samsung?..i really need this tool to be safe before playing with unknown devices..

************** JIT-Debuggen **************
Um das JIT-Debuggen (Just-In-Time) zu aktivieren, muss in der
Konfigurationsdatei der Anwendung oder des Computers
(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.

Zum Beispiel:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten
Ausnahmen an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem
Computer registriert ist, und nicht in diesem Dialogfeld behandelt.

    EFS success

    I already tried your way, n successfully backup EFS with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
    but i do not have brave to try to restored efs now..... :D

    If anyone is interested, the latest release (currently 2.0.70) starts correctly

    I have found that Obackup https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pommedeterresautee.twoborange3, which is a great backup tool, supports also the efs directory (advanced backup configuration, select partition and select efs).
    It's really the best solution in my opinion.
