This is an awesome device so we need more developers for this device..Developers plz support!!!

This thread will collect all the information for
1. Rooting (Done see below)
2. CWM Recovery (UPDATED )
3 Lava Original Firmwares ( UPDATED )
4 Custom Roms and Mods ( UPDATED )

Please help all the developers out here.

Rooting:-

Finally Rooted the Phone.Here are the steps:-
1. Make sure USB debugging is enabled. Go to settings > developer options > enable USB debugging
2. Download AND Install MTK Drivers
3. Extract the MTK6589 Auto Root folder from the .rar download
4. Connect your phone to PC visa USB
5. Run run.bat from the extracted MTK6589 Auto Root folder
6. Press any key and wait while it roots your phone
7. After finished, now reboot
8. You’re rooted. Verify root with a ‘Root Checker’ app from Play, or run any app you know requires root and you should see a root permissions request.

Working CWM Recovery for Lava IRIS 504Q
Here is the CWM 6.0.3.3 for Lava Iris 504Q

Requirements:

1. Sp Flash Tool
2. Recovery.img
3. MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt (only use this one. it is modified.)


Very Easy & safe way to FLASH CWM RECOVERY Without having PC

steps:->

1. Downlaod CWM Recovery extract it and copy recovery.img only to root of your SD Cards
{ i.e. sdcard/recovery.img or sdcard2/recovery.img }

2: download Mobile Uncle Tools for MTK http://d-h.st/yco and install it as normal apps

3. Now open Mobile Uncle Tools apps you recently installed.

4. grant Superuser permissions

5. There click on recovery update menu

6. Then click on the recovery image name of ‘ recovery.img ’

7. Let the app install the recovery. after that apps ask you for reboot your device in to recovery?. press yes

Instructions for flashing using SP Flash Tools:
1. Install drivers for your phone http://xdaforums.com/atta...0&d=1373524210
2. Copy recovery.img and scatter file in new same folder
3. Extract and open the SP Flash Tools.
4. In SP Flash Tools, click on Scatter-Loading and the program will ask you the location of the scatter loading file for your device select mt6589 scatter file.txt
5.Check only recovery.img, uncheck all others. (will be checked auto)
6. Switch off your phone (Remove the battery to make sure it is switched off).
7. Click the Download option (present on the right of Firmware
> Upgrade option) and the flash tool will start looking for your phone.
8. Put Battery and Connect usb to your phone now. The Flash Tool will start the flashing process, the progress of which can be viewed from a yellow progress bar at the bottom of the flash tool.
Warning 1 - Don't interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device.
Warning 2 - Make sure no power interruption takes place. (Use a laptop to ensure this).
9. After the process completes, a green ring will appear on your device signalling that the process was successful.
10.Disconnect your phone.

Thats all

Press volume Up and Power same time to get in to CWM

I dont have the Developer option in the Setting menu.. how do I get the same..

For Enabling Developer Options.
Go to About Phone then keep on clicking the Build Number atleast 5Times.
Then u ll see Developers Option Menu in the Settings.

My friend used online cwm builder for zen ultrafone 701 hd

specs similar to our device and he got working cwm.

but he can only get into recovery by adb or reboot to recovery from phone..

anyway i don't wanna root my device. it will void warranty..

otherwise you can build recovery from source.

I dont think it will Void the warranty....Just root it and enjoy it...after u Factory Reset it Root will go away.:)
