Google Keyboard

As most people probably know, the latest update of Google keyboard changed the layout for our device. On my phone however, the layout remain muchly the same. Does anyone know of a way to get the phone layout on my nexus 7?

Made no difference, there must be code in the app which detects device size rather than a different apk for each device.
