Galaxy S starts only in download mode

Hi guys,

recently my friend give me his galaxy s to find a solution for this: no recovery mode, non restore from the backup and restore option, apps that freeezes or no functioning.

So, i decide to aplly the last official ROM 2.3.6 via odin.

I perform the flash, but odin results say Failed.

Remove the battery, power up the phone and.... nothing... black screen

Only thing possible is start in download mode,and reflashing odin is stuck on Setup Connection.

I try odin 3.09, 3.38 and 3.43, a lot of ROM but i have the same result.

What can i do?

follow this [Tutorial] How to Unbrick, Flash, Downgrade, Root, Update i9000 from Froyo to Kit Kat use Odin3 version 1.83 and kill KIES for setup connection problems before flashing the JVU gingerbread ROM or a recovery kit.

Thanks for the reply.

I solved with a pit file and an older samsung rom via odin 3.07.

I tried few times, before with the pit file and CF root and than with the rom.
