Strange... It's almost impossible brick this type of smartphone with mtk processor.... Next time try with another pc, reinstall driver ecc..
The guide for root is on the first page... It's simple.
4.4 kitkat is not avalable for lenovo you can choose only stock rom, MIUI and lewa.... All is 4.2.x

ROW or Chinese?
Dear Mates,
I do not know what the real difference between ROW and Chinese types.

What I could see is the difference between the scatter files.
It means that the partitions a bit different.
What I would like to know how I can figure out the type. (/proc/dumchar_info and /proc/partitions file I would need)
The reason is I am asking it is a fact that the phone cannot boot, only the recovery is available.

In the recovery mode the adb is available, so I can access the the phone.
What is interesting is the difference between the /proc/dumchar_info and the /proc/partition:

proc/dumchar_info:
Code:
preloader 0x0000000000600000 0x0000000000000000 2 /dev/misc-sd

bmtpool 0x0000000001500000 0x00000000ff9f00a8 2 /dev/block/mmcblk0
The size of the preload and the fat are really strange for me.

The /proc/partition says:
Code:
 179 0 3792000 mmcblk0
 179 1 1 mmcblk0p1
 179 2 10240 mmcblk0p2
 179 3 10240 mmcblk0p3
 179 4 6144 mmcblk0p4
 179 5 917504 mmcblk0p5
 179 6 129024 mmcblk0p6
 179 7 1048576 mmcblk0p7
This says about 7 partitions only.

Can anybody provide me with your /proc/dumchar_info and /proc/partitions please? With you phone type.

I would like to flash the correct stock firmware to have it back to alive.

edit:
I checked the original PMT session it does not contain any link to the preload partiion, so it looks that it is a chinese type.
But I am still not sure.
If anybody, who has got ROW type phone, can provide the __NODL_PMT part of the ROM, please?

edit2:
Finally solved:
As I felt, the PMT showed the rigth type. So I Flashed the S141 official ROM and the phone became alive again and works as intended.
Also I ported a CWM 6.0.2.8 for this version, and you can find it here. The source is provided by apeelme.
md5sum: d6de50a43be8dd7aa205eacdfd6053eb
The CWM tested for backup and restore.

Thanks in advance.

when charging the led is red by default, and when the battery is full it turns green.
its not like Samsung, it doesn't have BLN

Thanks. Does the LED indicator work for third-party applications (Viber, QQ, etc) as well? It works on phones from Huawei, LG, Samsung etc but not on my Lenovo A850.

for all the FM radio lovers, and as our beloved Lenovo S920 stock radio app is boring and have no RDS
here is a radio application taken from a rom i found on an Indonesian forum http://www.kaskus.co.id/
the rom is ported from Xperia C

this app has a visualizer, RDS, and you can choose Radio region!!

you can install it as a normal application, you don't have to be rooted, and you will still have stock FM app.

enjoy

Thanks, I actually tried it with my A850 earlier and I got it to lit up the green LED (but no flashing). Also it seems Lite version doesn't support notification for external programs and that you must have the paid version for that... Anyway, will try it when I get my S920.

Another thing I wondered about was if anyone knows for 100% sure if all Chinese S920 support WCDMA 900 MHz if you flash the S920 ROW modem/baseband?
