First off, I want to thank everyone who spends time developing all of this stuff. I can’t imagine the time and thought that goes into it. I have a few nook tablets that have been sitting around my house. I have 4 kids, and their mother decided that they need brand new tablets, which they all got for Christmas. As usual dad (me) get the hand me down stuff. My daughters all have brand new uggs while I have had the same work shoes for 3 years. That being said, here I am.
I have a NT that I just started to modify. I am a noob, but I know enough to make me dangerous. This is what I got so far, and I need help. I started by using this thread-
I rooted my NT with CWM 5.0, ,and then halfway through I was going to put in my second card which I copied the rom & gapps to.It kept saying “no zip files found” They were definatley on the sd, I could read it on my PC. I gave up.
I tried this way & it wouldn’t work for me either I could not get it to boot from the card. In that video, he said to just copy the files onto the card, where as the next link I wrote the image to the SD.

After trying a ton of other stuff, I wrote this file to an SD card.
I got it to work, only after and I jump started it with the usb connection. Also, anytime I want to re-boot I have to do it that way, or it boots right to the nook OS. For me that is just OK, but I want better. I either want to get rid of the nook os, so it only boots into CM (maybe internally), but I am not sure, or get 4.4 running. Last night a goo update started downloading for CM11 zip. I stopped it, because I didn’t want to brick my NT, which luckily has not happened yet.
So to recap, I have a rooted NT (with 5.0 CWM), and I use an SD card for CM 10.2. that only boots via usb. I apologize for the rambling on. Can ultimately get this to run 4.4 with no nook OS from an SD card, or am I better off doing it internally?

Sounds like your NT is one of those units (like mine) that only boots off SD from power-off state and upon insertion of powered USB cable. This behavior will remain regardless of the version of CM on the SD card. If this does not suit you, your only choice is to install CM on emmc (see for pointers/tips on how to install CM10.x on emmc).

Thanks very much for your reply. I actually got 4.4 up and running very well off of an sd card. I am very new at this, but I am starting to feel comfortable. As soon as I get nightlies figured out and streamlined for updating, I will be much more comfortable.
Thanks again for your reply.
