Not sure if they check it or not when doing a claim. I think they would just for cases like this. There is a reason it's a dirty IMEI..

The imei is also printed I thought...
No offense but I'm not up for ripping the companies off.
If it is a blocked imei it's because it's been returned before or reported stolen. In each case I'm against destroying it but I do feel it should just be treated as a tablet or you should find a way to unlock it without more stealing....

I'm sorry if you got ripped off but this is part of what you check for when buying a phone....

If I buy a car with a stolen vin I lose the entire car.

I sent my bricked original note into Samsung for service. It came back repaired with the same imei. There's nothing you can do.
