The latest update on the LG servers! Not an OTA. D80120G, Kit Kat 4.4.2. Here's a link to the kdz file on their server. You can use the LG Mobile Support Tool to upgrade. After putting your phone into download mode (holding volume up while plugging in usb), go into the options menu and selected Upgrade Recovery. You will need to have the latest LG USB drivers installed. Unfortunately, the Mac drivers do not support software upgrades. Towelroot does not support D80120G yet, but Stump Root was able to use brute force and root 20G. You can find Stump Root here

For D80120E: I lost root and recovery when I updated, but was able to re-root with towelroot. Here's a link to their website. Then I installed and ran AutoRec to install TWRP, then flashed Cloudyfa's kernel v1.3 to enable Knock Code.

You can also download 4.4.2 through the PC Suite. Thanks elzero26 for pointing this out!

If you are having issues with updating your phone with the Support Tool or the PC Suite, you may have to update it following the directions from the link below.

I thnk it sucks that despite Google making tap to pay available to the masses with kitkat, carriers are allowed to have it removed. Restraint of trade much?

can you install this without a wipe?

I think it sucks that carriers are allowed to block out and taint parts of an OS, an open-source OS at that, just because they have people by the balls in terms of contracts and subsidies. Tethering? Free, and part of Android, but try telling a carrier that. Tap-to-Pay? "Oh but ISIS is so much better!," says carriers. "You can use that while we install CIQ to track every movement that you make!"

Ahem...sorry about that. /rant ;)

I wonder if T-Mobile had LG disable it to push their Isis TTP service. If that's the case, perhaps it can be modded back in, as tap to pay is part of the Kit Kat framework.

I know there's code in there for tap to pay because using a shortcut creator, you can see activities, but it appears the UI to make changes is gone or hidden. Having root, there may be a SQL change that can be made to turn it on or point it to google wallet.
