[Q] Bypass tether restriction in KitKat

Has anyone been successful in being able to do this? The link below gives directions, but I get errors trying to open settings.db.

I've noticed that changing the tethering dun from 1 to 0 doesn't stick? Anyone know why?

Make sure you are not using ipv6 in your apn settings
