Galaxy S4 running 4.4.2 and a Samsung Smart Dock attached to an HDTV via HDMI with a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse plugged into the dock. The dock is plugged into the wall via the Samsung adapter that came with an old S2.

For one reason or another (I think it is power usage of MHL) the phone slowly discharges even when it shows the charging symbol on the status bar.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across the same problem and if there is a way around it?

The S2 adapter is probably 1A or less. S4 adapter is 2A, which means it charges at 2x the speed. While using HDMI with all your accessories, you are draining at a faster speed than you are charging. Switch your S2 adapter to S4 adapter or get any 2A wall chargers (those are $10 or so), and your problem will be solved!
