I have an LG V500 (originally with 10B then upgraded to 20B all stock) and cannot seem to be able to install the Gamma Fix kernels (4.2.2 recompiled) on the GPad now flashed with 10A.

I want to use 4.2.2 because certain apps run smoother with no stutter. The stutter behavior is seen on all .4.4 phones and tablets I have, stock or custom. 4.3 and earlier runs fine on all devices.

V500 USA model, originally 10B then upgraded to 20B via LG (never rooted, all stock).
Set up LG environment to flash (stock? no custom recovery, no) GB 10A .kdz . Ran OK
Boots up to 10A
Use ioroot25. Ran OK. Rooted SuperSU present and working. (No recovery yet)
Installed TWRP via script from Dr. Gravy (wouldn't run on 10A)
LG Flash environment to get back to 20B.
Use ioroot25. Ran OK.
Installed TWRP 2.7.01. Ran OK.
Flashed the Rooted, SuperSU, via TWRP. Ran OK.
Insured book OK with no hangs or bootloops.
Made TWRP backup.
Copied TWRP backup on my computer.

Tried Bob Kernel 4.2.2 per his instructions utilizing the TWRP recovery.
Reboot no gamma change. (Tried several times. Didn't work)
Tried moving the boot file to the backup and running a full TWRP recovery. Ran OK.
Reboot no gamma change.
I make sure that TWRP mounts are OK. Try again.
Reboot no gamma change.
Reboot no gamma change.
Things devolve from there using PhilZ CWM recovery.
Nothing worked.
I did flashed the (stock?) 18a .zip. Ran OK.
Reboot, gamma fixed (but I do not want 4.4)
Tried SlimKat no gamma fix.
Flash Back to 10a using the .zip
I kept trying with 10a until the Gpad would only boot into recovery.

Today (starting all over):
Use the LG environment to flash GB 10A .kdz. All OK
Ran ioroot25. Ran OK.
No recovery installed.

Presently I am at 10A (stock), rooted, SuperSU.
Reboot OK. Gamma not fixed (as expected).

Am I missing something? Where to proceed from here?

Thank you for any assistance.

Any moment now I will have my Gpad and soon I will face the gamma issues.

Like you I wanted to stay 4.2.2 probably Malladus ROM and Bob Kernel for gamma fix.
I think the main reason was the ability to move app to sd wiithout the need of third party app. "Like h0w we m0ve Hill Climb Racing 0n my Gingerbread ph0ne"? (still little knowledge about this)
But if still need link2sd, then I will switch LRS 2.2.0 with AIC kernel f0r gamma fixed.
