DO YOU NEED VERIZON VISUAL VOICEMAIL TO WORK???

I DO TOO!
...SO I MADE THIS!
Oh, and it works with International ROMs!! :good::good:

As usual, flash at your own risk, and PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK!;)

***I'm not responsible for any issues you may cause to your device with this. You have been warned!***

This method may only work on TouchWiz roms and may work best if flashed immediately following your ROM installation while in recovery.

•×x DOWNLOADS xו

Jelly Bean 4.2 - 4.3 users need this file!

KitKat 4.4+ users need this file!

•×x INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS xו

1. Make a backup (nandroid, whatever)
2. Flash the zip in recovery (CWM, TWRP, SafeStrap)
3. Reboot. Sign into voicemail app.
4. Thank me!:)

Also, a HUGE thanks to @pankaj88 for the zip sample and to @Ghoshnik for the updated binary!
Thanks for the dark dialer link @chrisf8657!

****************************************************************************************************
******HERE ARE 2 METHODS YOU CAN TRY IF HAVING AN ISSUE!******
****************************************************************************************************

*×x OPTIONAL METHOD 1 x×*
Fixes FORCE CLOSE problem with Contacts & Dialer.

•Open root explorer

•Go to your "system" folder and change the permissions to r/w

•Simply replace your contacts and phone apps with the ones provided below:

sec.contacts.apk <--- DOWNLOAD!!
or
sec.phone.apk <------- DOWNLOAD!!

FOR DARK DIALER AND CONTACTS, SUCH AS IN THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION, CHECK OUT @jrkruse's thread HERE!

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

*×x OPTIONAL METHOD 2 x×* Fixes problem with ongoing checking of subscription/initialization process.

Or you may be able to fix the issue with a quick build.prop edit (even though I'm not completely sure this would cause that).

If you'd like to try the build.prop edit, here are the steps:

BEFORE THIS STEP, you must REMOVE Voicemail app if installed!;)

•Open root explorer

•Go to your "system" folder and change the permissions to r/w

•Then go into the system folder, find
"build.prop"(.txt)

•Open build.prop as "open with..." and use a text editor

•Inside, find the line that says
ro.HorizontalVVM = true
CHANGE true to "false" (No quotes)

•Next, find the line that says
ro.HorizontalBUA = true (may not exist, but look closely!)
CHANGE true to "false" (No quotes)

•SAVE text edit

•Reboot into recovery and flash proper vvm zip file.

PLEASE CLICK THE THANKS BUTTON!!

I use you mail. To me it's way better.

Well, there are people who need the Verizon Visual Voicemail app to be functional... As I do for work. I know there are lots of other voicemail apps out there, but this is strictly for getting the Verizon one installed and working.

Not sure why everyone keeps putting youmail up here when this is a thread for VERIZON VISUAL VOICE MAIL. If you don't use it good for you. If you do I would try this personal just for the simple fact that is one less carrier/host who has my info. Just my 2 cents. Gonna try and see if this works for KK will post back

I guess this thread should have been posted in the Apps section of the forums. Can it be moved please?
I made a request that this be moved to Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps.
FYI, you can just click the orange triangle with !, left of post #1 number, and select thread/post moving, and where you think it should be moved.

---------- Post added at 10:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:59 AM ----------

and it's moved
thanks @VECTUS

You must've installed some Verizon package because this does not work with your instructions. Did you install some My Verizon package? If so can you please link it? I"m trying to get this working on CM.

Just throwing this little piece of info out there..... EVERY TW ROM I've ever used has had the following line in the build.prop and I'm not sure but I believe some of the ROMs even state (with a commented line in the build.prop) that this line is necessary for VVM to work!

ro.HorizontalVVM=true

Also, I'd love to see a screen shot of that build.prop line youre talking about.

Ha. I know, seriously. Some people just get overly excited when they think they have news that others have no idea about. As if we have never heard of other voicemail apps. The name of this thread isn't "please, help me find a great voicemail app..." NOPE.
