I need to amend my 'complaint' about battery drain. I just jumped to a GS4 6-7 weeks ago and what I see must be contributed to quad-core on S4 vs dual-core on the S3.
Duh, this is certainly a reason and it makes me feel like a dope to blame it on my GS4 now with root for 6 days

Some other posts in this thread also complained about battery drain and I mistakenly jumped on that bandwagon and also cried about it. Sorry

Just saw this list on page 323 (link below) that may interest you of what phones have successfully gotten root with #towelroot.
There is now towelroot version 2 which may have worked out some bugs effecting your phones.

Also, this is at the bottom of the list. Maybe you need to try it a few times
- Try both versions Towelroot
- If you fail to get Root first time, try a few times (5-6) this helps some

I wonder if rebooting in between each time you re-try would help?
Did you shoot a logcat to @Geo Maybe he can get to any bugs affecting your manufacturer's phone?
