Today I received OTA system update notification to . 438, but now I am on it. Are the last update on this AndroPlus is the . 438? What exactly is need to flash, maybe only kernel from Flashtool from the new /old/ build . 438 FTF ?

v2 is based on .438, so you have to flash .438 FTF except system.
You can skip flashing some files such as partition and FOTA, but you have to flash at least kernel and bootbundle.
For those who has problem with hearing other person's voice in call,
flash "Z2 soundmod 1.0 without headphones boost without backup".
.438 has VoLTE support (maybe only for SingTel?), and it causes the problem.

AndroPlus ROM updated to 17.1.2.A.0.314 (RU).

Yes, this ROM is almost stock since we can add a lot of feature as you want with Xposed.
deodex, init.d and font changing can't be done by Xposed, so I created this basic ROM.
Just installed your rom coming from a 438 rom and UB. I did full wipe and now I'm getting bootloops and I think I've lost recovery as well. would I have to start from the scratch (flash ftf, re root etc)
Any help would be appreciated.

You should flash also 314 kernel and baseband if come from older firmware. Use flash tool.
for flashing recovery, use lockDualRecovery method.
Ah, I didn't think about UB+XZDR...
You can flash this Advanced kernel which includes revovery,
and install SuperSU zip.
If you want use XZDR, install XZDR after installing SuperSU zip
and flash only kernel with Flashtool.

EDIT: Do you mind telling me the steps as I am currently getting bootloops. At the moment, I'm in mode when the LED light turns blue. Is that fastboot mode?

Yes, it's fastboot mode.
1. Open folder which contains WedyKernel-20140718-314.img
2. "Shift" + Right click and select "Open Command Window Here"

Thanks very much. I can boot now. pardon my ignorance, so at this point, I need to go back into recovery (as it will go into cwm recovery right), flash superSU zip, flash dual recovery (if I want it) and that's it?

stock kernel means kernel in the FTF.
so,
flash SuperSU.zip
flash Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.151-BETA.flashable
reboot and enter into flash mode
flash .314 FTF via Flashtool
Wipe: Don't check
Exclude: Check all but uncheck bootbundle and kernel
reboot

EDIT: Weird, when I booted into recovery, it went to twrp recovery.

You can download anything in section 17.1.2.A.0.314,
but Russia - unbranded - 1281-1985 - is recommended since I used it to create this ROM.
I am also trying to restore xposed installer via titanium backup but can't. error message "element failed to recover" or something.
That's because you need to manually install it and install Xposedbridge.jar etc... So it can't really restore it

In older firmware there was libart.so, so Sony removes it.

For black apps, you can use Holo Themer to make almost all apps to use Holo Dark.
I won't include recovery since Z2 has to use custom / adv. stock kernel at the moment (double TWRP)1
