These 3 files are taken from the Mediapad Honeycomb firmware. They are located in the etc/coulometer directory when you mount the system.img.ext. Replace the ones on the ICS firmware that you want to use.

Note that in the update.zip file, you will also find the file bq27510_pro.bqfs. I also replaced it with the one from the Honeycomb firmware.

If you want to download the complete Honeycomb firmware, go to this thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1730765. The first one listed "S7-301u V100R001C284B011 Honeycomb Android 3.2 General Version" is still working.

The coulometer firmware upgrade happen when you flash the Honeycomb or ICS firmware. I'm not sure how to upgrade it any other way. So in the end, what I did was that I download my Mediapad back to Honeycomb, then upgrade back to ICS again using the modified firmware as mentioned above.

P.S. My Mediapad battery life is back to normal now. I can play games for a long time without the battery level dropping suddenly to critical level. Right now, I am trying to run the battery out, then I'm doing a full charge before doing a battery calibration. :D :victory:

Big thanks for this method.... my Mediapad looks to regained the initial 4-5 hours display time (continuous youtube and browsing mixed).
Now I will flash original latest ICS and replace the coulometer files, will make my settings and will see how it will work.
Thanks again.:good:

hello,

will be this battery for 12 USD good?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item338c6b7aa3
because the other link in older post here is for 99 USD battery - why so expensive?
or this one might be better? http://www.ebay.com/itm/4000mAh-bat...415?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item258a45d1a7

if i have issue with mediapad where battery lasts suddenly now only 10 minutes, it shows charging 90%, then suddenly it drops to 40% while still on charger - is this battery issue, or could be other hardware problem?

rom: 10.1-20130910-unofficial-hws7300u (android 4.2.2; kernel 3.0.95-aftersilence-g535027d)
do you know please if this rom has good coulometer firmware?

thanks

It seems, that after two years finally my mediapad 7 works fine. Now I have got 14% of battery down, after more then 1hr of screen on time.

Now I think that something went wrong with this coulometer firmware upgrade procedure. I was using honeycomb firmware for some time and today upgraded to ice cream sandwitch but on first start it stucked much longer on "Coulometer firmware updating..." information.
In my opinion this update procedure sometimes fails to complete successfully and thats is the reason of battery problems...

There is update log file on SD card root. it shows that coulometer update procedure returned code 9.
